3304.0. "Presentation Module development docs ?" by SMAC10::BARKER_E (Ummm...) Fri Jul 03 1992 12:30

    Hi,

    	Is there any documentation available for development of
    Presentation Modules ? The 1.2 EFT customer I'm supporting is looking
    at developing their own PM for the switches they will be using, and are
    looking for advice and any docs available ?

    	Thanks,

    There is no PM Cookbook for DECmcc V1.2 (though writing of FMs
    is now covered in the Guide to Writing MMs book).

    Maybe for DECmcc V1.3

    Note also that if you are talking about a separate, new, PM which isn't
    integrated into one of our standard PMs (FCL, Map, TBD), you don't need
    that much info. Any program that talks to the user (or user's agent)
    on one side and issues mcc_call's out of the other side is a "PM". In
    other words, FMs and AMs have dispatch tables, init/probe/log entry
    points, and various other very specific structural requirements, but
    PMs have none of these.

    I realize that this may not be what you're looking for, but it is
    worth mentioning since it is often misunderstood that PMs are
    fundamentally different from the other MM types.
