3286.0. "global entities deregistered - NOT!" by ANOSWS::COMFORT (Spent a little time on the hill) Wed Jul 01 1992 19:16

    Hi,

    I have the EFT V1.2.7 and when I start up the IMPM, I get an error
    pop up box...

    Map Window Message: One or more global entities is deregistered,
    Unable to display them.

    The problem...

    I have two namespaces, one development, one production. The error
    appears no matter which namespace I use. In the production namespace, I
    only have six entities, all of them domains in the "top" level map.
    These display correctly. There are no other entities in this domain. In
    the development namespace, I have 5 domains and 3 circuits. I get
    the message box three times.

    What could cause this? I have manually reviewed the DNS entries and
    the MAP files, but cannot find an answer. Is the IMPM looking into
    other domains and finding this problem? I am curious on this because I
    do not have the ELM AM installed, so when I enter a domain that has
    bridges in it, then I (understandably) get an error regarding the
    entity class not being there.

    Any info will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Dave comfort

3286.1Try this..BARREL::LEMMONTue Jul 07 1992 12:1710
    Bring up the command line and issue a

    SHOW DOMAIN your-domain MEMBER * ALL CHAR

    You will see the same message displayed, along with the
    fullname of the member. Delete this member and you
    should be all set.

3286.2one more thing...BARREL::LEMMONTue Jul 07 1992 12:208
    If you do not see the error message, issue the show domain
    member * command for all domains that the domain contains.

    The iconic map builds the domain hierarchy on a background thread.
    The deregistered entities may be a member of a domain in the
    hierarchy.

    Jim -

    Thanks for the info. It turned out to be an SNMP node registered
    somehow in an incorrect directory. Entry was down three domain
    levels.
