3258.0. "TYMPLEX brouter and DAVID SYSTEM HUBS ?" by MARS02::THOMAS () Sat Jun 27 1992 13:20

	For a future DECMCC customer, i want to know what is the status of
the SVP program for TYMPLEX's products, and specialy for the managment of their
brouters:

	* is there any on going development?
	* who does the development?
	* when may we expect an access module?

    	I don't know if their brouters have a SNMP agent. If somebody
    knowes ...

	Have we any information about any possibility to use DECMCC to
manage DAVID SYSTEM's HUB (with or without SNMP) ?

	Thank you for your information

	Regards

	Bernard THOMAS

    There is _no_ work underway with Timeplex (correct spelling, I think) as
    part of the Strategic Vendor Program.

    >	* is there any on going development?

    None that I know of, on Digital's part.

    >	* who does the development?

    Given my answer above, it would have to be just Timeplex. Timplex is free
    to order the DECmcc Developer's Toolkit and develop anything they want.

    >	* when may we expect an access module?

    Don't hold your breath.

    Now to put a more psitive spin on all this: If they've developed an SNMP
    agent and have an RFC1212-compliant MIB for any extensions, then you should
    be able to manage their brouters from DECmcc right now.

    I know nothing about David Systems except that I *think* we (Digital) are
    OEMing their DOS management platform right now as a "low-end" solution.
