3243.0. "%MCC-E-DSPMMLOCFILER" by 45353::WILLIAMSG () Wed Jun 24 1992 18:24

Hi there,

I am getting the following error when trying to add a collector:

%MCC-E-DSPMMLOCFILER, dispatch local management module file access
error during probe.

Has anyone seen this before.

Thanks,

Gary.

Are you doing module development?

This sounds like a case of changing a management module, but not re-enrolling
it. That would result in dispatching to the wrong place in the executable.

    No other messages?

Some things to look for: Missing MM, MM in wrong directory, protection
on MM or directory wrong, MCC_ logicals pointing to wrong places.

    Which OS?

Hi there,

I have installed the MCC BMS T1.2-7 kit on my VAXstation 4000 model 60
running VMS 5.5 and Motif 1.0a.

What I am trying to do is use the alarms and services notifications to
pass info from applications into DECMCC.

I have followed through the instructions in the Alarms and Notifications
Services Use manual, but on registering the collector I get the message
listed in my original note.

As far as I am aware I have not changed any management modules.

I believe all the logicals point to the right place.

Hi Henk,

I tried the command:

MCC> enroll mcc_collection_am

Which came back with:

%MCC-I-ENRDUPLENTRY, enrollment successful; duplicate entries found and replaced

On trying to add a data collector I still get the original error message.

I then tried performing the enroll through the DECWindows interface, and
it now seems to work.

Thanks for your help.

Gary.
