2946.0. "Extract rules non standard text file format.." by PLUNDR::LOWEG (Don't believe a word) Wed May 06 1992 18:44

I am positive I have installed all the available patches for BMS V1.1,
I have read loads of notes in this conference and nothing seems to
point me in the right direction for what looks like a simple problem.

    When I RUN MCC_ALARMS_EXTRACT_RULES.EXE

It creates the file MCC_ALARMS_RULES.COM without any problem. But when
I come to EDIT the file it tells me that " Input file does not have
    standard text file format "..

Anybody know how I aviod this ??

The output file, MCC_ALARMS_RULES.COM, is created via the C RTL
fprintf routine. I have had no problem editing the file. I typically
  use EVE (TPU) for editing.

Did you get the file in to the editor Ok? If the file looks fine on
the screen, there is probably nothing to worry about.

2946.2don't worry.TOOK::MCPHERSONLife is hard. Play short.Thu May 07 1992 02:045
Don't sweat the error message. Output from a few other utilities (maybe
sort?) will cause thise message. You can still edit /type/etc the file w/no
side effects.

Thanks for the quick replies.. I will comfort the customer with the
fact that its just the way it is..
Is this being looked at to be changed in future releases ???
