2789.0. "X1.2.15 -> "Xt Error: Can't Open display"" by TRADE::ASHRAF () Fri Apr 17 1992 19:48

    I am running:

    DECmcc:	X1.2.15
    VMS:	V5.5
    DECstation 3100 M76

    When I enter "MANAGE/ENTER", I get the FCL fine. However, when
    I enter "MANAGE/ENTER/INTER=DECWINDOWS", I get:

2789.1SHOW DISPLAYTOOK::D_WONGDavid Wong @LKG 2-2Tue Apr 21 1992 17:494

    Do a SHOW DISPLAY to see where it is trying to display the output to.

    SET DISPLAY/NODE=0/CREATE will set display to the node you're on.
2789.2SET DISPLAY solved the problem!TRADE::ASHRAFWed Apr 22 1992 12:5013

    <RE: .-1>

    Dave,

    SETting DISPLAY/NODE=0/CREATE got me going! Thanks.

    For some reason, I assumed that /NODE=0 was the default, and
    didn't think about using that command for local display. The
    morale, "Don't assume anything"!

2789.3will this be changed to report an error rather than a stack dump?ASD::MCCROSSANFri Jun 12 1992 12:240
