2776.0. "Unable to display FCL Window from IMPM via PC-DECwindows" by CUJO::HILL (Dan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer Resident) Thu Apr 16 1992 05:12

I have a customer who is running Pathworks/DOS and PC-DECwindows.
DECmcc is invoked on a VAXstation and the windows are served to
the PC via the "$ SET DISPLAY/CREATE/NODE=PC1" command.

This works quite well as a very low cost X-terminal. The problem
occurs when invoking the FCL application from the IMPM applications
menu. We get an error message indicating that the window can't be
    displayed.

This works just fine when serving windows to a VAXstation or
    DECstation.

Additionally, when you bring up eXcursion on the PC, the navigation
window does not collapse with the map window when the map window is
    minimized.

    -Thanks,
     Dan

2776.1PC may be refusing the connectionSUBWAY::REILLYMike Reilly - New York Bank DistrictThu Apr 16 1992 17:029
    Dan,
Check if you can send any other application to the same PC while
DECmcc is running. It may be that the PC is refusing the additional
connection required for the FCL window. See if the eXcursion
configuration file has a parameter which specifies the max number
of concurrent sessions it will support.

2776.2FCL problem occurs with PC-DECwindowsCUJO::HILLDan Hill-Net.Mgt.-Customer ResidentFri Apr 17 1992 04:2312
    Mike,

It appears that the additional connection for the FCL window is
being refused by the PC, but I have only noticed this when running with
PC-DECwindows, not eXcursion. The eXcursion problem is a different
    one.

To answer your other question, there are two other DECterm windows
being served from other machines to the PC running PC-DECwindows. I'll
check tomorrow to see if I can ship another Xwindow.
