2235.0. "Notification problem V1.1" by HLRG02::STEEG (DECmcc PABX AM development) Fri Jan 31 1992 07:44

Hello

I have a problem with the alarms notification of DECmcc V1.1

I have a four level deep entity structure.
I set an alarm on an attribute of the entity of the last level(level 4).

When the alarm fires I get a mail message, but the notification in the
IMPM is strange. The icon color of entity level 1 (global) and 2 (first child)
changes but the color of the child entities at level 3 and 4 not changes.

Can anybody help me?!

re .1

The problem is not with domains

The problem is in ONE entity structure.
In the first two levels of this structure the color changes but not in the other
two levels.

	GLOBAL (color changes)
	   |
	CHILD1 (color changes)
	   |
	CHILD2 (no color change)
	   |
	CHILD3 (no color change)

The alarm is set on an attribute in entity CHILD3

Hope this is enough information.

2235.3Is it a dynamic child?TOOK::D_WONGDavid Wong @LKG 2-2Wed Feb 05 1992 13:0118

    Henk,

Is child2 or child3 a dynamic child (i.e. it shows up as 'child2...'
when u first look into it)?

When the child3's alarm came in, were u in the child3 view (i.e.
subentity view)? Did you try look up and look into child3 after
'no color change' occurred? Try that and let me know the result.

It looks to me there's a coloring problem with dynamic child IF
you're looking at it in subentity view when the alarm fired. Lookup
and then look into the same view will fix that problem. Anyway, I
    will fix that problem.

Please let me know if you have a different problem.

	Hi,

	CHILD1 is a instance-less child and dynamic.
CHILD2 is a dynamic child with instances.
	CHILD3 is a instance-less child and dynamic.

I tried look up and look into but no color changes.

When an alarm fires I get the following:
When I did a look into [CHILD1] I get [CHILD2...] with the color is red.
But when I double-click on [CHILD2...] I get all the instances, but none
is red and the color of [CHILD2...] changes to normal.
When I double-click on [CHILD2...] the instances disappear and the
        [CHILD2...] becomes red again.

	Thanks for your response

	Henk.
