Gil,
Where did you try to set display to (VAXstation or DECstation, B/W or
color)?
>> I got a "nice" background map of white on white, without having
>> changed anything.
'background map' -- Do you mean a backdrop map (e.g. World map, U.S.
map) or just the background of the map window?
>> I experimented a bit, and the only colors accepted are BLACK and
>> WHITE. For the background map, all the other colors are working ok.
'the only colors accepted are BLACK and WHITE' -- Which colors are you
talking about here? windowBackground, iconForeground, etc.?
'For the background map, all the other colors are working ok.' -- You
just said the background map is white on white; so what colors are
working?
needs more info,

I am using a color VAXstation. And as I said things worked ok for
a while, before they took a turn to the worse.
By background map, I mean the static map we enter on the back of
the real DECmcc dynamic entities. Yes, the world and europe maps,
etc. I used to have a white europe on a blue sea, but now have
to content myself with a white europe on a black sea, or the
reverse.
And I cannot see at all the new (x11) .XBM bit maps, that you can
use with the v1.2 of DECmcc. I had a couple maps of the local site.
When I say that the other colors are ok, I mean the line, icon,
and text colors. Those are still configurable.

P.S. I heard of a leat one other person with the same problem.

Gil,
I tried it on a color VAXstation with Sky Blue windowBackground and
White backdropForeground, and it works fine on my end (i.e. white
europe on a blue sea). Would you either post your mcc_resource.dat
here or mail it to me (took::d_wong)?
About the .XBM bit maps, make sure you include the directory with the
bit map file (i.e. MY_BITMAP_DIR:xbm_filename.XBM). Otherwise, it will
try to look for the XBM in your current directory (i.e. where you
started MCC).
