Anybody able to tell what our current position on SMI/GDMO and DECmcc
is?

SMI/GDMO are part of the work currently being designed for version 2 of
the EMA specs.
You should presume that EMA v2 will get implemented in some future
release of DECmcc - however, that work is not yet planned, so there is
no delivery date available.
There is, however, some a/d work ongoing in this area.
