2116.0. "Help with LAN Topology Services." by WOTVAX::HATTOS (I think, Therefore I'm paid less) Wed Jan 15 1992 10:13

    Hi,

Can someone please give me an 'idiots guide to LAN Topology Services'.

I am trying to map both our spanning tree network and our FDDI ring
    with precisely zero result.

I will enter the error messages I am getting if it is of any help, but
basically it comes back saying invalid parameters.

Something simple and concise to get me going would be a great help.

    Thanks,
    Stuart

Have you looked in the Autotopology Use Manual? It's located here:

TNPUBS::USER$657:[PUBLIC.NMS.MAKO]DECMCC_ELM_AUTOTOPOLOGY_USE_EFT12.PS

Also, please check out the MCCELMT012.RELEASE_NOTES which should be in
SYS$HELP. The release notes list some of the restrictions and known
problems of the field test kit.

Yes, please post as much detail as you can. That will give us at least
some idea of what's going wrong. Please describe how you are running
the spanning tree and FDDI map applications, and any relevant
    information like currently open domains.

Can you try these three commands and post the result?

    MCC> TEST MCC 0 STM_FM
    MCC> TEST MCC 0 FDDI_FM
    MCC> TEST MCC 0 ICONICMAP APPLICATION LAN_TOPOLOGY_PM

    Thanks.

    Hello, again,

My problem was with mcc_stm_database.ldb not being there. I ran the
appropriate procedure in MCC_COMMON to start the listener but it
    didn't!

I am running on a FT410 and the procedure doesnt check for my EFA0:
device. I have hacked the procedure and everything is fine!

Wanna buy my hack anyone.... :*)
