I have jsut completed installation of T1.2, and encountered the following
problem extracted from the installation log:

The MCC_STARTUP_BMS startup procedure for DECmcc T1.2.3 is now running.

Beginning DECmcc BMS Installation Verification Procedure ...

This is installed on a VS3100 running VMS V5.4-3. DECmcc-BMS V1.1 was installed
and was running without errors.

No other problems appeared during the installation.

Which operating system are you using?
Have you ever had a previous version of DECmcc installed?

1901.2VMS V5.4-3...HAZARD::BAKERPaul Baker, UK Product and Technology Group - 844 3311Mon Dec 09 1991 20:166
Erik,

I'm running VMS V5.4-3 on a VS3100. I was running V1.1 SSB version with all
optional AMs installed.

1901.3DECmcc processes running during the install???TOOK::T_HUPPERThe rest, as they say, is history.Tue Dec 10 1991 12:2610
If any old V1.1 DECmcc processes were running at the time of the
installation, you would see this error. The event memory pool has
changed for V1.2, and the 1st error encountered is the difference in
size. Perhaps a better 1st error would be event pool version skew.

Our current installation does not stop or check for all currently
running DECmcc processes. Likely suspects are V1.1 alarms processes
running in batch. Could this have been the case?

1901.4Getting rid of the V1.1 left overs fixed the problemHAZARD::BAKERPaul Baker, UK Product and Technology Group - 844 3311Fri Dec 13 1991 10:138
Ted, Erik,

Many thanks for your help.

Getting rid of the old V1.1 left overs fixed the problems. I still had alarms
and the TSAM running.
