1768.0. "DECmcc support of DEChub ?" by ZPOVC::COLINTONG () Wed Nov 06 1991 07:26

    We are in a tender situation that require network management of the
    DEChub family. I know DEChub is not currently supported by DECmcc. But
    I have the following questions.

    1) Is the DEChub family devices supported by the Ethernet AM in a LAN
       environment and/or even by the DNET4 AM ?

    2) Who can I talk to for more further information ?

    Thanks for any information.

  The DECbridge 90 and DECserver 90s should respond to MOP requests,
  which means Ethernet AM will support them (verified for DECbridge 90,
  I don't have a DECserver 90 to test against).

  No support is provided via the DNA4 AM.

  Why not use this note to ask questions? That way questions could be
  asked and answered for all readers.

1768.2Agreement in principle to manage with hub viewEMDS::SEAVERT&N LAA MarketingThu Nov 07 1991 12:069
    LENAC met with with MCC engineering yesterday. There is now agreement
    in principle to (in addition to command line support) add a hub view
    similar to the one under development in MSU (point and click on
    objects, LEDs, and ports) most probably by March 1992. This means the
    DEChub 90 family of products will be manageable with a hub view
    interface by any of three different management systems: DECmcc, MSU,
    and a new MS-DOS based product. This will give the customer the
    ability to choose the style of management that is right for their
    situation.
1768.3TSAM Support??SEDOAS::BESTFri Nov 08 1991 07:228

    	I'd heard a rumour that the DECserver 90 would be managable
    	via TSM and later on by the Terminal Server AM. Anybody care to
    	comment on this.

    (no rumours please)!

1768.7notes conference on DEChub managementEMDS::SEAVERLENAC Net Mgnt Mktg 223-4573Mon Nov 18 1991 14:0110
    There is a notes conference on:

	ENGINE::HUB_MGNT

    This conference is designed to discuss any questions you may have about
    managing the DEChub 90 family of products, both stand alone and in the
    hub. So far the plans are to offer a module, DECagent 90, which is a
    SNMP proxy agent and be able to manage the hub using a new MS-DOS
    Windows based product, MSU, and MCC. All three management products
    will have a graphical (picture) interface.
