1765.0. "AM for N.E.T ?" by FRSOLD::FRAFS1::MAASS () Tue Nov 05 1991 16:00

Hi everybody,

as far as I know, N.E.T. is on the strategic vendors list. The DECmcc
evaluation team in Du Pont is interested in that.

Can you please give me a Status Update :-)?

Thanx in advance

1765.1Who is N.E.T?KAJUN::NELSONWed Nov 06 1991 10:2610

Hi,

I work in the DECmcc Strategic Vendor group. What company is N.E.T? I
have not heard of one of our partners with those initials. Of course, I
am most familiar with the partners in the US. Are they DECmcc strategic
partners or strategic partners in some other capacity?

1765.2N.E.T. (or simply NET) produces TDMsFRSOLD::FRAFS1::MAASSWed Nov 06 1991 16:1111
Hi,

NET produces TDMs, which are used in Du Pont's WAN, as far as I know. I will
visit the customer on Monday, so I will be able to provide more info, if needed,
then.

Thanks for the fast reply and hope this helps

1765.3I don't think soTOOK::MATTHEWSThu Nov 07 1991 19:4411
    I believe N.E.T is Network Equipment Technology who make T1 and CSU
    gear as well as TDMs. They are headquartered in the San Francisco
    area. Digital Corporate Telecom has some of their gear and we
    had discussions with them about being a strategic vendor several
    years ago. I don't remember that they were ever officially
    a strategic partner. They declined to participate in favor of
    a relationship with IBM is what I remember. Corporate Telecom
    tried to develop an AM but NET would not supply details of their
    management protocol so the effort was abandoned.

1765.4A late "That's right, and thank you for the info" FRAFS1::MAASSEckhard Wich, CS-NSB, DTN 861-3133 / @FRSTue Feb 04 1992 15:0712
Hi all,

thanks for your info; better a late reply than none at all :-)! Wally, you were
right, it was NET :-). Well, one can't help it if they choose to cooperate with
the wrong guys.

Anyway, thank you very much and see ya
