1650.0. "Iconic Map PM" by PADIS::PERIE () Tue Oct 15 1991 11:01

    PM are described as generic modules , but it seems to need specific
    commands in the MSL to use the Iconic Map PM (command register?)

    Do you have information about Iconic Map PM use ?

    Thanks.

    If I understand your question correctly, the Iconic Map PM is
    documented in the user manual _DECmcc Use_ (formerly known as _DECmcc
    Director Use_).
1650.2REGISTER is not specific to the IMPMKAJUN::NELSONWed Oct 16 1991 18:0532

Here's the scoop, the REGISTER command is not specific to the Iconic
map.

To have the entity instance appear on the map, the instance must be a
member of the domain being displayed. In order to be added to a domain
as a member, the instance must be registered; i.e., made known to MCC.

The entity instance must also be registered to use the Historian, the
Exporter, and to use the IMPM notification mechanisms.

You can use the Register directive and then Create the Domain Member
from the FCL. OR you can use the Toolbox from the IMPM to obtain the
same result. The end user REGISTER directive is documented in the _Use_
guide, as stated in -.1. The IMPM goes through the REGISTER process when
adding a domain member only if the instance has not been previously
registered.

The logic of the Registration process (what happens inside the MCC
system to get an instance Registered is documented in the MRM for the
Registration FM.
