1501.0. "Iconic Map problems" by EISNCG::MEHR () Fri Sep 13 1991 02:33

	It seems I have serious Iconic map probelms!

	1- When I do a Directory at MCC command Line I the get proper reponse

	MCC> DIrectory DOMAIN *

	Directory successful

		Domaind Name = company_NS:.topdomain
	Directory successful

		Domaind Name = company_NS:.mydomain1
	Directory successful

		Domaind Name = company_NS:.mydomain2
	Directory successful

		Domaind Name = company_NS:.mydomain3

	But when I click on the domain and select DIRECTORY
	from OPERATION menue, I get the following error:

	The requested operation can not be completed

	MCC Unhandeled service reply:	No such entity company_NS:.TOPDOMAIN member *

	I had registered the domains at command line:

	MCC> CREATE  DOMAIN TOPDOMAIN
	MCC> CREATE  DOMAIN MYDOMAIN2
	MCC> CREATE  DOMAIN MYDOMAIN1
	MCC> CREATE DOMAIN TOPDOMAIN MEMBER MYDOMAIN1
	MCC> CREATD DOMAIN TOPDOMAIN MEMBER MYDOMAIN2

	What is the probelm?

	- Everytime that I open the map some of my icons show up
	in a different place! &

	I get the error

	"MAP Window message: Entities found in the domain but not in the
	map file were autoplaces".

	This might be related to my previous problems (mentione above
	and note 1500)
	My map at this point is only made up of Domains and
	Stations (concentrator 500s).
	This only happens when I try an "operation" that fails (mentioned
	before & note 1500). If I "save" the map and "close window" without doing
	any "operation", I can open my map and everything will look fine.

	Although I don't think that logicals are the problem
	 but just in case, here it is

	$ Show logical MCC_MAPS
	MCC_MAPS : MCC_COmmon"
	MCC_Common" = sys$common:[mcc]

Thanks
