Is there any plan for supporting DECmcc Iconic Map FM with OSF/Motif ?

Will the transition from DECwindows towards Motif be transparent for the user ?

	The *plan*  (did  everybody  see the word plan?) is to "freeze"
	the DECwindows Iconic  Map  *around* early December when we are
	well into our V1.2  field  test and just before the 30 day code
	freeze.    We  would  then  port/convert  the  IMPM  to  Motif.
	Appropiate bug fix, minor tweeking could  be done, but the port
	should be done as quickly as reasonably possible.  The Motif PM
	would (should?) work as another PM on-top of DECmcc.  The Motif
	PM  would  be  avialble  to  anybody  internally  and would  be
	turned over to Olivetti asap so they could port this  to  their
	System  V.4.    We would then evolve the Motif PM and  NOT  the
	DECwindows  PM.     Port  time  from  DECwindows  to  Motif  is
	*estimated* to be *around*  two  months  with a few of the IMPM
	engineers doing it.

	If we are behind the  eight  ball  with  too much work in early
	December, the port would start in early/mid January when we are
	scheduled to go to SSB.

	Clear up our *plans*?

	I hope  not!    If  we go to all that trouble, I hope the users
	think it is much better!
