1273.0. "Mac/Appletalk and Ethernet AM" by HSOMAI::LIN () Mon Jul 22 1991 00:14

    Since DECmcc doesn't support Appletalk protocol, I am thinking to register
    Appletlk stations (Mac) by using Ethernet AM. Questions:
    Does Alarm, Recording, Reports/Graph work for these stations once I
    register them?

1273.1EtherPort II card support??HSOMAI::LINTue Jul 23 1991 12:335
    The Macintoshes we have here are all using EtherPort II board from
    Excelan. We seem to have problem (target doesn't respond) of registering
    them using Ethenernet AM. I looked at the Ethernet Access Module Use
    manual. Table 2-5 Ethernet Device Implementation types. EtherPort II
    is not one of them. Does it explain why I can't register them??

Table 2-5 does not list all of the supported devices, just the
possible values of Implementation (which is only returned if the
target station responds to MOP REQUEST-ID).

What AGENT are the MACs running? There is a known problem when trying
to REGISTER a MAC running PATHWORKS (a PATCH for this problem should
already be posted somewhere in this Conference)...
