| I have two problems.
One reported on note 744 where because of the fonts of a VT1300,
the screens are in another format that on most other workstations.
The Text is larger, less contents in the windows, and I am again
lucky there if I can find a corner of the EXIT Icon within the main
window, because otherwise I was obliged to fire the whole application
not being able to exit from certain windows (Schedule Time).
The screen used here is a VR320
Even DecWindows Mail has this problem. What I did to fix it was to restart
my server withe DPI = 75.

> I got this problem in a VR299, VR290 and VR160
This is documented in the release notes.

| I only see in the release notes (of BMS) under
2.1.2 Restrictions, #12,
restrictions using PC displays. This is related to previous problem 1.
I do not see other remarks, which could explain the problem 2. I try
to describe the context.
I haven't seen any difference with the screens mentionned compared to
the screens where I have not that problem, even not size problems,
except for 1 single difference.
When you click in an object, and it is "expanded", only in these
screens I have this text presentation inconsistencies. The size
of the text is right. The foreground/background color is disrupted
that sometimes you can read, sometimes you cannot read, sometimes you can
only partially read the text: sometimes foreground on background,
sometimes bacground on foreground, sometimes the upper part in
foreground and the lower part in background, and this on the very same
window. I also have this on all following "expansions".
Executing any verb results always in correct windows !
Once I tought it could be a 50Hz/60Hz problem but I really do not know.
It's still a mystery.
Regards,
Dominique.

In your decw$user_defaults:mcc_resource.dat file, specify a named color (blue,
green, red etc) for window_background. If you have a monochrome system,
user either black or white.
This usually cures the penitentary syndrome. The expanded subentites will
no longer be behind bars.
