849.0. "reports help" by JETSAM::WOODCOCK () Wed Mar 27 1991 18:08

Hi,

I am using DTR V5.0, Rdb V3.1b, CDD V4.2, and DECgraph V1.5 but haven't
been successful at cutting a report. Is there something I have overlooked?

I have successfully been exporting on the following entities and have verified
this by SHOW EXPORT <entity>:

	NODE4 BBPK02
	NODE4 BBPK02 LINE SYN-0
	NODE4 BBPK02 CIRCUIT SYN-0

I then try running reports (ANY) and get the following type of error
in the log file (element "..." not found in dictionary):

$!
$define mcc$node1 "24.541"
$define mcc$line1 "SYN-0"
$define mcc$date1  "27-MAR-1991 09:00:00.00"
$define mcc$date2  "27-MAR-1991 10:00:00.00"
$define mcc$report_file  "BBPK02_0.RPT"
$DTR
VAX Datatrieve V5.0
DEC Query and Report System
Type HELP for help

:node4_line_bandwidth_rpt
Element "NODE4_LINE_BANDWIDTH_RPT" not found in dictionary.
exit

any help appreciated,
brad...

849.1Reports initialized?TOOK::ANWARUDDINAnwarFri Mar 29 1991 11:505
re .0

Have you initialized the Reports package? Please check the "Performance
Analyzer Function Module Use" manual for initializing and using the package.

When all else fails read the DOCS. This only works with up to date DOCS. I
pulled over the new DOC set and of course the INITIALIZE info was there.
Thanks for your patience.

BTW - Are there any known probs with cutting LINE reports? I seem to be
able to get node reports first pass but I failed on getting LINE stuff.

thanks,

849.4Node Number = "node name"NSSG::R_SPENCENets don't fail me now...Tue Apr 02 1991 14:214
    Did you use the Node Number (in place of Node Name)? It is described
    in the release notes.

RE:-2 Yes, I did have a LINE SPEED set. And

RE:-1 Yes, I had caught the info about node numbers in the release notes.

I decided to drop back to ground zero with this stuff to ensure I wasn't
tripping on anything else set up by others prior to my testing. I'm not
sure where the problem was but *most* seems well at this point (it looks
like I still need a DECgraph reinstall because it doesn't invoke properly).
I was looking for some quick tests just to ensure functions work at this
point. Success for now, I'll get back to it in detail after I get some of our
other more important kinks worked out.

849.6Line traffic report or Line error report?..TOOK::ANWARUDDINAnwarFri Apr 05 1991 14:057
When you say line reports, do you mean Line traffic report or
Line error report? I think the Line error report needs some fields
from the Circuit statistics relation. So if you haven't exported
circuit data you will not get the Line error report.
