                                     DEPT:  T&N
                                     LOC.:  LKG2

Digital has been given the opportunity to participate in System's
Center Inc. (SCI) North American "Network and System's Solutions"
seminar series. As you probably know, SCI and Digital have sales
referral and joint development agreements regarding DECmcc - SNA
management.

Specifically, Digital has been asked to speak about EMA, DECmcc and
SNA management for 25 minutes, sharing the session time equally with
Tandem and AT&T who will be speaking on their respective enterprise
management strategies. (Each seminar will begin at approximately 9:00
and wrap-up at noon.)

What is needed, is your support in staffing the seminar in the
following cities:

     o  New  York,  NY  (1-MAY)      o Chicago, IL (10-APR)
     o  Washington, DC(8-MAY)        o Los  Angeles,  CA  (25-APR)
     o  Denver, CO (23-APR)          o St.  Louis, MO (7-MAY)
     o  Atlanta, GA (16-APR)         o Dallas, TX (19-APR)
     o  Toronto (9-APR)              o Cleveland, OH (11-APR)
     o  Miami, FL (17-APR)           o Boston, MA (2-MAY)
     o  San Francisco, CA  (24-APR)  o Houston, TX (18-APR)
     o  Philadelphia, PA (30-APR)

Each city represents and excellent opportunity to present EMA and
DECmcc management messages to 100-150 MIS and network management
professionals. Furthermore, you are encouraged to invite Digital
customers to the seminar; SCI will coordinate the invitations and
logistics. Details regarding how you and your customers can register
for the seminar will be given in a follow-up memo/notice.

Presentations will be based on a sub-set of standard, off-the-shelf
materials. Consequently, if you can (and do) volunteer as a presenter
you will need the recently updated network management slide
presentation titled "Digital: Your Source for Enterprise Management",
slide set #2117. The presentation is available through Digital's
corporate photo library in PKO. (SCI has requested that we use 35mm
slides ONLY).

If you are able to speak in the city within your region, please notify
Daniel Holland (DTN 226-5464, Delni::D_Holland, @LKG) or Tony Viola
(DTN 226-5128, Delni::Viola, @LKG) by MARCH 8, 1991 at the LATEST.

Thank you,

Daniel Holland, Network Management, Product Management

740.1Does expenses covered ???VIDOAN::DOANEIS/Network Consulting Group of the 90'sThu Feb 21 1991 13:1115
Hi Daniel,

	This is Thien Doan from the EIS/Network Consulting Group at GSF (Hudson,
	NH ). I would like to find out if all expenses will be covered for the
	volunteers. Our group have done many pre-sale presentations to various
	customers ( all Digital ) and the results is the sale of many copies of
	our EMA compliance products. Please let me know so that I can contact
	my manager and help to allocate resource.

	Thanks

Thien Doan
PS: We have been FT the DECmcc products since it was first developed, and also
    have real life experience by installed the SMS,EMS, and BMS products at
    customer sites.
740.2expenses are NOT coveredDELNI::D_HOLLANDThu Feb 21 1991 16:368
In response to Note 740.1.

There are no marketing (or other) program funds available to
cover expenses in support of this activity. Consequently, expenses
must be paid for by the presenter's organisation. Unless of course,
someone has a pot of gold stashed somewhere.
