377.0. "Recording questions and problems.... " by RACER::DAVE (Dave Lyons - Networks DCC - 226-5934 - LKG2-1/S4) Wed Oct 03 1990 13:21

I created a domain "d1", and started the historian background batch job to
process requests...

	then I did the following.....

MCC> show_rec node4 nssg part=counters,in dom d1
Node4 nssg
AT  3-OCT-1990 10:15:08

No recording for the specified entity and partition
MCC>

	so far, so good, but then, the next command was...

MCC> rec node4 nssg part=counters,in dom d1
Node4 nssg
AT  3-OCT-1990 10:15:16

Recording for "Counters" partition already exists

MCC>

Whats wrong here?

	Sorry for my previous reply. Some thing was wrong.

	It looks like between you created domain and got
	this error "recording already exists" you had some
	other error. If I'm right, please, give more details.

	If you want to clean up your "historian" environment:

		1. stop background process

		2. do SHOW DOMAIN d1 ALL CHAR
		   it gives you domain_directory

		3. exit MCC

		4. delete files [domain_directory]*.MCC_HIST*.*
		   Note: it deletes history about all domains were
			 created in this directory.

		5. start background process

		6. invoke MCC

	Note: According to Release Notes,please, enter Phase4Name
	      using UPPER CASE letters.

	Good luck,
	Sam
