Although we made it a short night, due to the weather - we still caught
one set of The Charley Dee's Blues Band.

    	The Dinardo's/Johnny's lounge/bar is a decent place, wasn't too

Well, I went roller skating tonight in Tyngsboro. They must have a lot of
trouble there with gangs. There were police in the parking lot and at the
entrance. They made everyone empty their pockets and also scanned everyone
for guns ... whatever. It was real strange. The security was heavier that
I've seen at some airports. Once inside, it was ok. I'm sure I was the oldest
person in there ... but still enjoyed it. I skated about 2 hours and will
likely pay for it tomorrow.

Apparently saturday nights are the worst. Sunday night is the best since it
is an adult only night. I plan on trying it out on a sunday night and will
likely not go again on a saturday night. I was told friday nights aren't
as bad either ... I'll stick with sunday.

re:89 I've been to the rink in Tyngsboro. It seemed like a nice
place... Good that there's something to get people of all ages to
    some healthy recreation together.

Friday evening at the Border was excellent. Jocelyne and Elora
were thrilled that their dad has some cool friends :-) They confessed
that all they'd wanted to do was eat and run cause I couldn't possibly
have any friends that would interest them. Now they can't wait to go
    whitewater rafting..
Angeline was absolutely precious!! CJ provided us with several
good laughs... We need to get you a rabbits foot cj :-)
My girls thought the world of Joyce and Thought Barb and Kathleen
were cool if not a bit quiet.

I'll be driving them home early this evening so I can watch the
    super bowl in it's entirety..

hope everyone had a good weekend,,.

Quiet? That's just cause Joyce wouldn't let us get a word in. ;-)

> I'll be driving them home early this evening so I can watch the

I stopped watching with aobut 10 minutes left, when the Packers intercepted.
;-( Man, and I didn't even get good numbers in the pool - 9, 9.

Johnny's/Dinardo's was a nice place and the band was great. Good to see
Tom T after quite a few years. Hey Rich, hang onto that beer next time! ;-)
Could've done withoutthe ride home in the snow but had no problems (though saw
3 cars off the road on 495 south!).

OOOps fogot to mention Rich was there as well. Which my girls

to the mix of men women and personalities.

I'll have to brush up on my karate skills for when my girls start
really dating.:-). Like the saying goes you bring em up as best as you
can. Teach them well and hope when decisions have to be made that they
make the right ones. Elora has on 2 occasions been at odds with her
peers because of her strong individuality and great common sense. On both
occasions through tears and perseverence she's swayed her peers back on
track. Believe me it made me proud that she did the right thing even
though it meant standing alone for awhile.

Joyce, I think the place is actually called The House of Brews (just so no one

Directions to "Riverside House of Brews"

If you go north on RT 495 (continue long past Lowell) till you come to
exit 49 (Rt 110) Take right off the ramp...stay on Rt 110 (with river on the
right) Go under the RR bridge and you enter the downtown area...Riverside house

The House of Brews is located on a main street. So it is

fronts. (Just so you know). A parking lot is just after
it on the right. Kind of downhill into the lot.

Yawn!!! I dunno - you folks out there are keeping me out too late! ;-)

Yes, a good time was had by all Sat. night! We had a surprise attendee
even - Leon, the hunter from Springfield! ;-) Kathleen, Kathy and I had
a nice dinner - Jan came down with something so she didn't make it out with
us. ;-( YOu feeling better Jan??? We then met Bob and Diane and John and
his cousin Ed at Bainbridges. Leon showed up after the show started (tsk, tsk
Leon! ;-) ). Hey, we actually found a smoke-free place!!! (Isn't Chelmsford
great??? ;-) ) The comedy was pretty good. I'd go back there again for
comedy. what do you guys think? (Course I'd go other places for comedy too!)

Some of us (me, Kathleen, John, Ed and Leon) ventured over to The Brewery in
Lowell after the show ended (and John still has no idea how to get out of
Lowell cause he followed me through backroads ;-) ) Daryll, had no problem
finding the place now that I know where it is! ;-) We did end up getting to
play pool this weekend after all! I think I sunk 2 balls the whole time -
whooey, I am good! ;-) Played for about an hour, till they kicked us out.

But wait! There's more! We then left The Brewery and came back to my house
to hang out...Kathleen and Leon wimped out though ;-). John, Ed and I sat
around eating cheesecake and chocolate cake till the wee hours. At least I
didn't have to drive home at that point! ;-)

Thanks for the great company guys! Nice to meet you Leon, glad you came out.

Yes I'd absoluetly go back to Bainbridges. Having such a nice
layout and being smoke free were big plusses. Anyone wanna try to get
into the mill with me today?? I wanna see if those ventilation ducts
are really habitrails for rats as big as a car ;-)... This is a family

I had a great time Saturday night, good to meet/see everyone who
showed. Actually, when I came back from Maine last night, I went
back to the Brewery and played a little pool with my cousin and another
friend who came along. Never did find the hiking boots, but I still
managed to come home with a full array of bags in the trunk!!!. Not only
did I find the Brewery, but made it out alive to tell the story!!
(Hey Leon, how about those two guys fighting near that diner on the way
home, when suddenly one gentleman reaches into his trunk for a loaded
window squeegee) Ahhh , gotta love Lowell.

Great party! Thanks, Barb!

I counted about 16 souls there (cat included). I think Ed was the
only one there who wasn't in the list in .-1. That's a superb turnout
from what I hear.

I nominate Harry for Life-of-the-Party. Certainly kept me (quietly as
is my way...) in stitches. ;-)

Sue, we're all waiting for you to sign in. Good to see one of the
friendly faces in the hallway show up there.

CJ, what can I say. Your reputation preceded you so I wasn't too
shocked. I know, you're a good person and you were on best behavior.
(most of the time ;-) ) Somehow, you dominated the scoreboard for
zingers (or whatever that was for...)

Barb, I'll have to get you some industrial magnets so that the
memories you posted on your refrigerator don't keep falling off.
Way to rip that thermostat out of the wall! ;-)

John and Ed, good tag team. Ed lives the stories and John tells 'em.

Ron, some pretty witty remarks. You should have scored higher on the
board.

Heck, almost everyone was getting in some good lines so we'll give
everybody that. Oooh, and the double meanings! It got so dangerous
to say anything, I shut up. That's the story I'm going with. ;-)

Doug, our NOTES host with the most useful hardware. Clusters forever!
You're a funny guy, too.

Jenna, a beautiful and friendly cat. Very tidy, too. Cleaned up the
catfood that Barb dropped while trying to hand feed Jenna.

Jan, friendliest person I've ever met. Such a good heart. Glad to
have your friendship.

Atlant, seen your notes elsewhere before. Good to put a face to the
name.

Bob, interesting stories of what one might find in a vacuum cleaner.
Gives Tuesdays a new meaning. ;-) Didn't need to hear of the more
smelly possibilities, though. Eeewwwww!

Steph and Kathryn (?). Better watch out for Steph. I think she's
going after CJ's job. ;-) Kathryn, welcome back to the area. Pass
it on, Steph.

Did I miss anybody? :-( Hope not.

/Bill

OK, lunch/dinner to meet Pat.

Sounds like you don't have much time to be able to go *out* to lunch Pat so
meeting at TAY seems to be the thing to do. I can make it.

Now what about dinner? Can folks do dinner Wed night? We could do Yangtze in
LIttleton or the REgency, where Pat is staying. I'll have to be at rehearsal
so can't stay long but would love to be there for a bit at least. We could meet
at, say, 5:30 for those that could make it then (I'd have to leave around 6:30
;-( ) and others could show up when they can. So, who can make lunch and who
can make dinner? (Gee, Pat, I hope you could dinner - I just assumed. ;-) )

gonna make the non-attendees wonder. But I'll never tell, they'll just
have to go to the next one and order a beer from me.

And really Barb, you DO NEED to get a more magnetic fridge. Between
picking up the character magnets off the floor and changing the
date blocks every day, can't figure how you possibly have time for
    anything else in your life!

I got a call from an old friend that does comedy. He's doing
a show this Saturday (the 22cd) up in Manchester, NH at Crystal's
in the Holiday Inn. He's the second comic, just before Dick
Doherty himself. If you've never seen Dick, you should. But
be warned, he's raunchy. I haven't seen my friend's act, but
    he's a pretty funny guy.

Oh, didn't even think about directions - sorry.

You get off 495 at exit 32.

If you are coming *from* the south/*going* north on 495/*from* Littleton towards
Chelmsford you take a right at the end of the ramp.

If you are coming *from* the north/*going* south on 495/*from* Chelmsford to-
wards Littleton you take a left at the end of the ramp. (OK, John and Harry,
think that's enough explanation for which direction you're coming from?????
;-P )

Go to the stop light and take a right onto 110. The Westford REgency will be
a little ways down the road on the right. Go in the main doors and that's where
we'll be waiting, in the lobby. If you do get there later, the restaurant we'll
be in is the one off to the right of the lobby.

Dinner tonight...

It was pointed out to me that dinner at the Carlisle Room at the Regency (which
is the restaurant that *does* take reservations) is fairly expensive. I called
and there are specials from 5 to 6:30 for $11.95. Other than that, meals range
from $14 - $18. There is also Clark's Pub which is cheaper but *doesn't* accept
reservations. I asked if we'd have a problem getting in there at 5:30 with 8
people and she said there should be no problem. So, I'd like to suggest cancel-
ling the reservations and winging it at Clarks. Both places are right off the
lobby so it doesn't change where we're meeting. This sound ok to everyone?
Could whoever gets there first please put a name in at Clark's?

Anyone else want to join us?????

Martha's is right on Main Street in Nashua. From the South, get
off Rte 3 at exit 5E It's the exit right after the Howard Johnsons on Rte
3) For those of you unfamilar with Nashua exit numbering, northbound the
exits are [currently] numbered, 1, 4, 5. The mythical exit 2 is being
built and exit 3 is a left-exit southbound only.

There's a stop sign at the "end" of the ramp. Bear right and join
the rest of the traffic. There are a couple of traffic lights and then you
will hit one with a sign pointing left for the bus station. Go straight
through that set (stopping as appropriate) and turn left at the next light
onto Main street. Martha's is a couple of blocks up on the left. There is
on-street parking on Main street and almost any side street (watch for
one-way streets) has parking as well.

From the north, take exit 7 or 6 east (they will join) and turn
right when you hit main street. Martha's will be on the right.

Crystals at the Holiday Inn, right there in dowtown Manchester.

11.408Auction on May 2CSLALL::MCNAUGHTON_WThu Apr 24 1997 14:0825
Don't know if anyone else is interested but some of you are dog lovers.
The Labrador Retriever Rescue is having an auction on May 2 at the
Ipswich VFW. It starts pretty early around 6:30 with munchies and a
cash bar. Some items are write in bids and some actually auctioned by
an auctioneer. They also have a raffle for those who don't want to
spend a lot. Last year the raffle had over 50 donations. Not all
donations are dog related. Last year some of the donations were a
    weekend of fishing with a professional fishing guide in upstate Maine;
fancy patio chairs-valued at $150 each; an original watercolor; antique
prints, a $100.00 tree for your yard and the planting of it; a pig
cookie jar with oinked when opened--I bought that and gave to a
friend's husband; a weather vane for roof of house--$100 value; floral
arrangements--live and artifical. This year there will be one of my
wild, maine, blueberry pies--I was asked to donate it. Oh, great
stuffed animals for the kids, labrador slippers--not real labradors (I
know how some of your minds work.

Any was if anyone is interested, write off line and I'll give more
    details.

Also, no one involved with the Labrador Retriever Rescue, Inc. gets
paid; all monies go to the dogs for spaying, vaccinations, training
with a professional when required--she does not have Labradors but is a
behavior specialist, and occasionaly boarding when all volunteer homes
    are full.

Well, you know lunch doesn't make it to my stomach, as a rule, for
some reason.

I wonder if Jenny Craig would let me buy some of the pounds that her
customers are shedding?

Anyways, it was good to see those that I've already met, and good to
meet those that I hadn't until today. Not a bad lunch, either, but
as is the way with Oriental food I'll probably be starving by 4:00.

11.432Memorial weekend BBQ CSLALL::JACQUES_CACrazy ways are evidentTue May 13 1997 17:3641
Well, I'm going to go for it!

Decided to have a bbq on Sunday, May 25th. This will be a family
event, kids of all ages welcome.

That night is the (most incredible!) fireworks show in Manchester,
so we'll be trouping out up to that afterward.

BBQ time will be 2:00 (negotiable on that one), and we'll probably
head up to the show around 6:30. It gets PACKED at the show, so the
    sooner we leave, the better.

The BBQ itself is going to have to be pulled together by all of
us, with bring your own alcohol. Other beverages will be part of
the list. Like, so-and-so is bringing soda, or something like
    that.

I have a huge YARD, so anything you have for outdoor entertainment
is welcome. I have a set of yard games - badminton net with some
rackets and birdies, volleyball, and some other games for the
younger ones. This is a "five in one" type set up that you'd pick
    up at K-mart.

There is a pool in our park, if it ever gets hot enough. I'd have
to find out if it will be open by then.

The park itself is very nice and safe if you have younger ones that
would like to bring bikes along.

And that's about all I can think of for now. I'm having this
regardless of size of interest. If it's just BobB and Jocelyn,
me and Angeline - so be it! :-)

Fireworks rain date is Monday night and as time goes by, I may
also figure on moving my bbq to that day. I just don't know if
in the meanwhile some other plans could come up for that day.

So it's up to you all now. If you'd like to participate, sign
    in please!

Ohhhh, now I get it! Couldn't quite figure out why you were telling everyone
out of the blue that you lived in Nashua. And then there was Shawn's comment
which made *absolutely* no sense. Then I read "huge YARD" and actually figured
it out then. ;-)
