346.0. "Ident mismatch with T1.2 23/05" by EVTAI1::RONSSIN (MCS France) Wed Jun 04 1997 11:11

On an Alpha/VMS 6.1,
I installed the last kits ROBOT012.% dated of 23 may 1997:

Directory COOKIE::AIM$PUBLIC:[MRU.V1_2.OPENVMS]

ROBOT012.A;2            1476  23-MAY-1997 16:10:14.00  23-MAY-1997 16:34:51.00
ROBOT012.B;2             540  23-MAY-1997 16:10:18.00  23-MAY-1997 16:34:51.00
ROBOT012.C;2            1116  23-MAY-1997 16:10:43.00  23-MAY-1997 16:34:51.00

No problem during installation.

But after:
$ rob sh rob
%DCL-W-ACTIMAGE, error activating image CMA$OPEN_RTL
-CLI-E-IMGNAME, image file OPSPEC$DRA0:[SYS0.SYSCOMMON.][SYSLIB]CMA$OPEN_RTL.EXE
-SYSTEM-F-SHRIDMISMAT, ident mismatch with shareable image

In the installation guide:
Supporting Software Version Compatibility

              The MRU command line interface runs under OpenVMS VAX
              Version 5.5-2 through Version 7.1 systems, and OpenVMS
              Alpha Version 6.1 through Version 7.1 systems. The graphic
              user interface runs under OpenVMS VAX and OpenVMS Alpha
              Version 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, and 7.1 systems and requires Motif
              Version 1.2.3.

I came back without problem with the T1.2, 20 mars kit.

Is Alpha/VMS 6.1 will be ok with 1.2 ?
When will the 1.2 be released ?

Thansk for your answer

	Between the T1.2-5 and T1.2-7 kits our OpenVMS cluster was
	upgraded to V6.2. We link against "platinum" versions of
	the various run-time libraries, but something strange could
	easily be happening. If you could the image version and
	identification information from an ANALYZE/IMAGE for the
	CMA$ run-time libraries on your system, that may offer a
	clue.

	We've started started OpenVMS qualification, so we'll get
	around to a V6.1 system eventually.
