420.0. "FlyThrough and Photorender issues" by ALLVAX::STAATS (T is for Todd) Wed Apr 09 1997 20:48

Got a call the other day from a Pro user running on a DIGITAL clone
box with an E3 graphics card.

I spoke to Jeff about the psychadelic color issue with Pro/PHOTRENDER
re: 12 bit visuals of the card vs. how Pro/E 'exports' visuals, but
part 2 below has me confused. Has this been seen? Is it related
to the card. PTC is 'blaming' everything on the card drivers.

    --------------------------------------
I just wanted to tell you about another bug that PTC believes is ZLXp-E3
driver related. I just got Pro/Fly Through, and it works great. UNTIL, you
exit the program. And then WinNT 4.0 CRASHES. You get the "blue screen of
death", and have to restart the PC. Other than that, the program seems to
work just fine.

Let me know if you are having any luck with these problems, or if you need
any more info. My main concern is getting Pro/Photorender going.

Thanks for ALL of your help!
Steve

I called and talked to him, seems like Flythrough works great and
5 times out of the last 6 and the end of the session when "exit"
is selected within the application, it crashes the operating system.

The Flythrough problem sounds like a graphics driver bug. Find
out what version of the driver the customer has.
