2420.0. "Hinote won't wake up" by ANNECY::HOTCHKISS () Thu May 29 1997 13:22

    I have an original Hinote ct475.It is effectively new since it has had
    two new mother boards,two screens and three batteries in the last 3
    months..still,I digress.
    When I close the lid,it suspends but won't wake up again and needs
    rebooting.This happens with or without the net or AC power.I have bios
    1.42.
    Any ideas.It seems to be independent of the power/lid settings too.

2420.3This worked for meNWD002::FEIGLETue Jun 03 1997 04:0410
    I had the same problem.... figured it was the color of my shirt that
    day. After leaving the machine on charger for 24 hours and still no
    result, I went into desparation mode. Took the whole machine apart,
    including disconnecting the CMOS battery. When I put it back together,
    it worked <duh>.

    P.S.
    I also changed the color of my shirt?

    You figure.... jff

    If I do this I'll probably break something else.
    Does anybody know what settings I should have in the power management
    to get the machine to switch off when I close the lid and start when I
    open it.
    Is it too much to ask to NOT have to spend at least an hour per day
    screwing around with unreliable PCs?

re -1,

Why is it sad? Macs have always been easier to set up and use than PCs. I
guess it's sad that DIGITAL doesn't sell them.
