2407.0. "NT4.0 drivers for VP575." by ZPOVC::LINUSKONG () Fri May 16 1997 15:18

    Hi all,

    Is the video drivers for the VP575 the same as VP535 for running under
    WindowsNT 4.0? If not, Where can I locate the correct drivers for NT
    4.0 for vp575?

    Thanks.

   Per previous notes here, most of the drivers for the VP<550 are the
   same as the drivers for the VP>550 -- save for the PCMCIA drivers,
   VP>550 PCMCIA NT drivers differ.
2407.2New Audio, PCMCIA neededPCBUOA::FERRANTEVMon May 19 1997 18:4622
    The Audio chip in the Vp510-545 is the ESS1688
    The Audio chip in teh VP550-575 is the ESS1878/WaveTable

    The Video Chip in the VP510-545 is the NeoMagic NM2090
    The Video Chip in the VP550-575 is the NeoMagic NM2093 (Same driver)

    The PCMCIA chip in the VP510-545 is the Cirrus CL6730
    The PCMCIA chip in the VP550-575 is the Cirrus CL6832

    The mouse and keyboard drivers are native NT 4.0 for both..

    In any case, what good is that going to do you if you do not have
    PCMCIA to use ?? I had NT 4.0 running 4 months ago (only on the inside
    box, no external anything including PCMCIA) but that is only part of
    the functionality desired..

    In any case, there will be a new 'kit' with ALL the drivers and PCMCIA
    application and the new BIOS necessary to run NT 4.0 when testing is
    completed.. See your appropriate marketing folks for how and when this
    will be distributed..
