	I am working with a customer, Saturn who has several Hinote VP565's
	and is trying to get them to work with a 3C589 network
	card.  They have a LANMAN floppy that they use to boot the
	PC on the network and then install Windows 95.  They are not
	using Card and Socket Services.  The problem they are having
	is that with the Hinote VP565, Lanman does not see the
	3C589 network card.  They get an error that it can't find the
	card.  However, LANMAN does work with other laptops and
	the 3C589.  Has anyone run into this problem or have any
	advice.  Thanks in advance...

    The DOS Enabler from 3COM does NOT work on the Cirrus CL6832 chip, for
    that matter it has a problem on a feew other NEW PCMCIA chips. We ahve
    asked 3COM to update the driver but if they want it to work, we usehe
    3C589 and a boot floppy that DOES use Card and Socket Services and it
    does work... Apply through official channels with your problem and a
    solution can probably be made official for use..

	Vin,

	When you suggest to apply through official channels, I'm not sure
	if we're talking about Microsoft, 3COM or Digital?  Does PCBU
	engineering have a official workaround if I elevate it officially?

    Elevate it up through the field problem reporting system as a fialure
    of the card on the Vp5xx system.  It will get to us through the
    technical support team and can be scheduled and worked..

	I did the elevation... but now the customer is having problems getting
	the Card and Socket Services to work on a Lanman 2.2 floppy.  ANy
	tricks you recall with getting this to work?  This is a very TOUCHY
	customer, we are desperate for help on getting this to work....

    We are testing a 'generic; floppy solution to post on the web.. At this
    time, we need to get license approval for the 'application' pcmcia C&SS
    from Systemsoft to allow us to general release..
    
    We're working on releasing it....
