2341.0. "Latest video drivers for HiNote Ultra I" by WOTVAX::HILTON (Save Water, drink beer) Tue Mar 18 1997 08:45

    I noticed on the Chips Web site, that they have updated Direct X 3.0
    supported video drivers for Windows95.

    Are any of these applicable to the HiNote Ultra I?

    The web site is at http://www.chips.com/suppframe.htm

    and it has the drivers for 65554, 65550, 65548,  65545, 65540, 65535,
    64310, 64300, HiQVideo 65554 and HiQVideo 65554 and 65550

    Cheers,

    Greg

    So should/could I install these drivers?

    Would it speed up Win95?
2341.3No. Don't fix what aint broke.JULIET::HARRIS_MANetworks Sales ExecMon Mar 31 1997 20:259
    Not sure you want to do that. I tried it and my screen no longer
    worked. The PC ran, booted and Windows 95 THOUGHT it was fine, but no
    display! I had a bear of a time getting the OLD drivers back since I
    didn't have a backup copy of the old drivers, and C&T removed
    everything but the latest from their web site.

    I vote: NO. Leave well enough alone. Direct X3 will have to pass.

I too had problems, although I did get a display. Everything
worked fine unless I wanted to use an MS-DOS window. At that
point, the screen looked like it was trying to display on a much
larger monitor. This is a NiNote Ultra I CT450.
2341.5Working drivers on the OSR2 CDVIVIAN::RANCEhttp://vivian.hhl.dec.com/rance/Wed Apr 02 1997 08:058

    I too tried these drivers and couldn't use a DOS box afterwards.
    The chips and technology drivers that ship with Windows95 OSR2
    seem to work well. These can be found in the DRIVERS directory
    on an OSR2 CD.
