2337.0. "Network doesn't wake up after power save with NT4" by JOBURG::NICOP (Nico Pretorius) Mon Mar 17 1997 09:42

Hi,

I have NT4 SP2 installed on my Hinote UltraII LTS5133 (BIOS ver. 2.10).

Power management is working fine except that whenever the machine goes
into power save mode my network doesn't wake again and I have to do a
shutdown and restart to get it going again.

This is realy starting to irritate me. Is somebody working on a solution?

I'm experiencing the problem with both the Xircom CEM28.8 and the CEM33?

Thanks for any replies.

2337.1same problem as my previous note?NETRIX::"c-kuhnem@mail.dec.com"Martin KuhneMon Mar 17 1997 10:1510
This could be the same hal.dll problem as in my previous note.
Try uninstalling service pack 2, then
re-install power management.

2337.2I have the correct HAL.DLLJOBURG::NICOPNico PretoriusMon Mar 17 1997 11:1315
Martin,

My power management works fine. The battery meter works fine
and if I do a shutdown it powers off. I did the power management
installation after I installed SP2 and then replaced NTDETECT.COM
as mentioned in note 2289.2. I have similar partions to that
mentioned in the note.

Also I compared my HAL.DLL with the SP2 HAL's and it doesn't match
which means I have the one from the EPM kit installed.

Does yours work fine now with your VP500?

Regards
Nico
