2325.0. "DEPCM woes with DOS" by SCASS1::GRESS () Sun Mar 09 1997 18:32

    I am trying to configure a bootable diskette so that I can jump on the
    network with my hinote ultra CS450.

    I installed the CARDSOFT software and LAN Manager 2.2c software. LAN
    Manager will start and fail. When I do a CARDINFO command it shows the
    DEPCM-BA card to be a card type = Memory Static RAM 16MBytes. There are
    several .CLB files in the CARDSOFT directory. Is this what I need for
    the DEPCM-BA?

    This is the first time for me to really mess with the DOS PCMCIA
    drivers. What do each of the files that CARDSOFT put in my CONFIG.SYS
    do?

    They are -
    SSCIRRUS.EXE
    CS.EXE
    CSALLOC.EXE
    ATADRV.EXE
    MTSRAM.EXE
    MTDDRV.EXE
    CARDID.EXE

    Also, are there any NT4.0 drivers available for the DEPCM-BA card? I
    saw that there were NT3.51 but NT4.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Kevin,

    Don't you have any docs with your CARDSOFT software? Just from a
    glance, it appears you're loading support for everything under the sun.

    For DEPCM questions, I suspect the NOTED::ETHERWORKS conference would
    be a better place.

2325.2Docs? no way!SCASS1::GRESSMon Mar 10 1997 15:0412
    Bill,

    	Docs? What are you talking about? Real men don't use docs do they?
    Ha, anyway - no I have no doc's for the CARDSOFT software, thats why I
    asked here. No help file also. I also thought that it was loading
    everything under sun when I did the INSTALL from the floppy. But I
    don't know what is what here.

    Thanks for the pointer, I will try NOTED::ETHERWORKS

2325.3I have a ZIPped floppy for you!BRSTR2::SYSMANDirk Van de moortelMon Mar 24 1997 09:5217
re .0 and 1274.0 in NOTED::ETHERWORKS

Hi Kevin...

Has your problem been solved yet?
If not, I have a ZIP-file of a floppy that runs DOS 6.22 with LANMAN 3.0
and that can boot a Hinote I, II, or COMPAQ-laptop with a DEPCM-BA and that
makes a network connection to a NETBEUI-service on Pathworks, WIN-95 or
WIN-NT.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll send the ZIP-file to wherever
(VMS system) you want it.

Kind regards...

2325.4I will take that!SCASS1::GRESSMon Mar 24 1997 18:186
    No, I have not had the time to look further into it. I do know that
    whatever I plug into the PC CARD slots-cardsoft says its a memory card.

    Please copy the ZIP file to SCASS1::

    Thanks!
