2143.11FR-PCP9R-BA on HiNote Ultra CT475?DECWET::THOMASBug-for-bug compatible with IntelThu Mar 13 1997 22:5821
    Blending .9's question (FR-PCP9R-BA) with the topic title (HiNote Ultra
    CT475) ...

    Can someone tell me if the FR-PCP9R-BA is supported in the HiNote Ultra
    CT475?

    My COG person has been getting the run-around from <whoever finally
    admitted to being responsible for fixing these machines and willing to
    swap the drive as part of the $500 flat fee>.

    When we sent it in for a hinge repair, along with a replacement drive,
    they managed to lose the replacement drive.

    They still can't answer the question of whether the drive is supported,
    let alone find the drive they lost.

    Sorry, I'm digressing. If you can answer the primary question (is it
    supported?), I'd appreciate it (and then I'll make the decision on whether
    I'd trust them with my laptop a second time).

    Sorry, the FR-PCP9R-BA is a HiNote VP part, not a HiNote Ultra part.

    Thanks! I guess I should have asked here earlier :-(

2143.14I lucked out...JULIET::HARRIS_MANetworks Sales ExecMon Mar 31 1997 17:258
    Curiously, I sent my Hinote Ultra 1 in for Disk repair (340Meg drive
    went south big time), and two days later, my machine was finished and
    re-loaded with a new 540Meg drive and the latest Sales Workbench image
    (Windows 95, tools, Kea, etc).

    I guess I lucked out...

    	Hmmm, send in the 75MHz CPU for repair and see if you get a 120MHZ
    	replacement.  Doesn't hurt to try.

    I just called and was told that your existing data is NOT restored.
    Time to figure out how to do a full backup, I guess...
