The v4 option doesn't work with SFCP v1.2 - you need v1.2A this is
explained in the Cover Letter. I'm sure that if you obtain this your
SFCp related problems will go away. Please ask in OAWEGO::A1SFCP
for more details.
The bit about background formatter and printers doesn't mean anything
to me so i'll leave that to someone else. However again you might like
to refer to the Cover Letter which has a section immediately below
the SFCP section on problems using old printer tables.

The message from the Background Formatter is :
Background Formatter job XXXXX terminated with errors
%WPSPLUS-E-GENERIC_MSG_TRA, Error ocurred during operation
I noticed that the customized type (.PRC and .PRA) is still in the
directory OA$USERS:[ALLIN1_SHR.PRINT], but the system is not
recognizing it...

The WPS-PLUS V4.0 formatter will look for the .PRA file in the
directory file pointed to by the logical name WPL$PRT.
Does WPL$PRT contain the .PRA and .PRC files you are trying to use?
