DECTEXT is an editor which was included in some German language kits. The
ALL-IN-1 base code contains some hooks for it.

I don't know if it will be included wuth V3.1, and have not heard anything
about it being ported to Alpha AXP.

4303.2Auto-hyphenationIOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeThu Jun 30 1994 12:435
    Once upon a time, and maybe still, it was the basis for the
    auto-hyphenation code that, As Richard mentions, was/is used in
    Germany.

    thanks graham and richard for the answers. i've removed DECTEXT from
    the list of available editors for my customer, just so they won't try
    to use it.

    DECTEXT has been retired years ago, but some peaces were left in the
    product, because they were used by other applications in Germany (like
    TELEX,TELETEX). As far as I know, the name DECTEXT should be scratched
    out of ALL-IN-1 as soon as the currently shipping version is out (?)

    DECTEXT as Editor has been retired years ago, but the DECTEXT DSAB
    should stay to protect customers investments in ALL-IN-1
    layered products like VAXTEL (Telex) and VAXTTX (Teletex).
    If the DECTEXT DSAB would be removed VAXTTX won't work anymore.

4303.6Make it invisible?IOSG::PYEGraham - ALL-IN-1 Sorcerer's ApprenticeFri Jul 01 1994 21:416
    Fritz makes a good point, and even when I thought we only needed
    DECtext for auto-hyphenation I was thinking we needed a way to have an
    editor type in the OAET tables, but not selectable at US SWC. MAyeb we
    need an extra flag, like the "invisible" flag in the command table?
