4113.0. "Print oddity - with page numbers" by GIDDAY::BURT (Scythe my dandelions down, sport) Thu Apr 28 1994 10:26

Customer running ALL-IN-1 V3.0 (no mup)

A user has reported the following problem - it can be duplicated at will on
the customer system. It does NOT occur when the user does things in a more
conventional manner.

Customer selects a document, and does P <cr> wheraupon the Printing Document
form is displayed. At this point, the user does a <GOLD E> which causes a
Print Settings form to be displayed. The customer does a <next screen> to get
to the second page of the form, and moves the cursor to the First Page field
on the form. Customer enters the page number required, eg 1.
A message is displayed,
 "enter a number between 0 an 00000."
The same message is displayed if any non zero character is entered at the Last
Page field.

This is more of an oddity than a problem as
a) the FR & TO options works correctly
b) it seems to be corrected by the mup, as I am unable to duplicate the
   problem on our systems here.

BUT the customer thought it worthwhile reporting, so I am (albeit informally)

Thanks & regards,

Chele

4113.1Site specific set-up problemIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Thu Apr 28 1994 14:2621
This is a site specific set-up problem with a Print Style which the System
Manager can correct.

Go to SM MFP MPR PT, select the Print Style and edit it. I have found that I
can reproduce the reported problem exactly if the Pages fields are set to:

  Pages: Changeable: Y First page:
                 Maximum value: 00000 Last page:

The normal settings of the Pages fields are:

  Pages: Changeable: Y First page:
                 Maximum value: 10000 Last page:

which will fix the problem.
