3479.0. "NO SUCH FORM" by DELNI::ROCHA (La la) Mon Nov 01 1993 23:26

Hello,

	I'm having a problem with printing to any LN03 printers.
	We upgraded from V2.4 to V3.0, and since then, when you
	print to an LN03 printer, you get the error No Such Form,
	and then the job gets retained on error.

	In the Manage Printer Types screen in ALL-IN-1, under Print
	Form Value, it's listed as OA$HLS_80. If I change that to
	be OA$HLS_132 it works sometimes, but just not the OA$HLS_80
	form. I've also tried printing from VMS by doing
	PRINT/QUE=PRINTER_LN03/FORM=OA$HLS_80, and I still get
	the No Such Form error. I've also tried defining a new
	form with basically the same information, and that doesn't
	work either.

	Any ideas on what the problem is, would be greatly appreciated. 8^)

	Thank you
	Tracy

3479.1Check form list and logicalIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Tue Nov 02 1993 02:278
If you do a $ SHOW QUEUE/FORM is an OA$HLS_80 form listed?

Also, do you have a logical name called OA$HLS_80, because Print Form names
are subject to logical name translation, and the equivalence name will be
used as the name of the Print Form.

3479.2Tried that...DELNI::ROCHALa laTue Nov 02 1993 16:347
Hello,

	Yes, if I do a show que/form, it's defined on all nodes of the
	cluster. There is a logical set up for the LN03 printer itself.
	Thank you for your reply.

3479.3Does this fail?IOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Tue Nov 02 1993 17:2720
If you do the following:

    $ SHOW QUEUE/FORM OA$HLS_80

    	and the form is listed

    $ PRINT/FORM=OA$HLS_80 filespec

    	and get

    	%PRINT-F-CREJOB, error creating job
    	-JBC-E-NOSUCHFORM, no such form

then the problem is with the Queue Manager and not ALL-IN-1. What is you
definition of the OA$HLS_80 Print form?

	I tried printing using the form from VMS, and I did get
	the No Such Form Error...I'll ask the system manager
	regarding the queue manager (thank you for the info)

	The definition of the OA$HLS_80 is
	Form name                            Number   Description
---------                            ------   -----------
OA$HLS_80 (stock=DEFAULT)              1112   ALL-IN-1 form for narrow printers
    /LENGTH=66 /MARGIN=(BOTTOM=6) /STOCK=DEFAULT /WIDTH=80

3479.5Your form looks correctIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO2-G/L2Tue Nov 02 1993 18:468
Your OA$HLS_80 print form is correct. When I've seen problems like this
before it was due to having a logical name the same as the form name, which
was translated by VMS into a form name which did not exist. I can't think
of any other reason for this problem.

3479.6Define on Print ConcerntratorDELNI::ROCHALa laTue Nov 02 1993 18:579
	Hello...

	I spoke with the system manager, and the problem was that the
	form wasn't defined on the Print Concerntrators. He defined
	them there, and now it works fine.

	Thank you very much, Richard for all of your help.
