After an upgrade to V3.0, my customer is "concerned" about an apparent _improvement_ in response during ALL-IN-1 invocation. They want to know why so they can maintain the performance. (I stupidly mumbled something about possibly improved overall contiguity because of new and converted files, although they use Diskeeper.) Has anyone seen this? Any explanation? They even think moving between forms is faster. Bruce

Many things were done to ALL-IN-1 V3.0 to maintain the performance so that performance losses due to new features such as drawers were offset by improvements elsewhere. This work was being done about two years so I don't recall all the details. One of the ways we improved the performance of starting ALL-IN-1 was to delay opening files until they are needed, for example, OANICKNAMES.DAT. Richard |
