1856.0. "Edited docs can not be read completely" by ISTWI1::YEGEN () Thu Nov 26 1992 12:50

    After the upgrade I was experiencing something strange almost everybody
    in the MFG department was calling me saying that when they make a FA
    from a mail they were able to edit it, but twhen they wanted to print
    or read it only some portions of the document was displayed or printed.
    What I could find out the problem was happening only with the mails
    which they were receving from the dept secretary. In fact the dept
    secretary has the following problem, she could not read or print
    completely the documents which she created.

    Any help would be apprecited, what is wrong with dept secretary's
    account. I checked only protections of her ALL-IN-1 account and
    everything was OK.

    Best regards,

1856.1What type of documents?IOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4AThu Nov 26 1992 14:445
What type of documents are you having problems with? Are they ASCII,
WPS-PLUS, some other format?

Richard
1856.2ISTWI1::YEGENThu Nov 26 1992 15:467
    They are pure WPS-PLUS docs.

    Thank you for your help,

    Best regards,

    Tansu YEGEN
1856.3Try the followingIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4AThu Nov 26 1992 16:3515
Select one of the documents you are having problems with and do

    <list @oa$curdoc

and then:

    <list<format oa$curdoc_filename,,"LP11"

If the <list displays the entire document, and the <list<format does not
then the problem is occuring during the WPS-PLUS formatting.

    Richard,

    I have done <list @oa$curdoc then the document is displayed fully.
    I have done <list<format oa$curdoc_filename,,"LP11" and only a part
    of the document is displayed. The same display that I am getting with
    read command.

    Any more suggestion,

    Best regards,

    Tansu YEGEN
1856.5Ask in WPS-PLUS conferenceIOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4AFri Nov 27 1992 16:3011
The problem seems to be the WPS-PLUS formatter is not creating a listing
file which contains the complete document.

If you edit the document is there anything unusual at the point where the
output stops, for example, a "-- START CONTROL --" without an
"-- END CONTROL --"

You could also ask in the MAGIC::WPS-PLUS conference.

    She was using a start and control block usually, but I entered into her
    account and created a document from WPS-PLUS and filed and tried to
    read it but nothing wad displayed only bottom and top lines were
    displayed.

    Best regards,

    Tansu YEGEN

    PS: I will do what you advised and switch to the WPS-PLUS conference.
    Please continue helping if you have any more suggestions.

    What are the pagination settings for the document? If the
    WP PG First Page Printed is set to something funny, then only
    a partial document will be printed.

    Hope this helps
