775.0. "port print ln07" by POWDML::ROBBINS () Tue Jun 02 1992 02:02

      Can an LN07 [declaser 1150] be used as a port printer from
      a PC (decstation 316) from ALL-IN-1? User is able to print
      normal size documents, but can't change the pitch, or print
      landscape. Is landscape or pitch changes possible with
      the printer, and configuration?

I don't know of any reason why an LN07 could not be used as an ALL-IN-1
port printer from a DECstation 316, although I haven't used this
combination of equipment myself.

What type of documents are you trying to print in landscape or change the
pitch? Are they WPS-PLUS, ASCII or another format?

    the document in question is a wps-plus document. We've gone through
    setting the pitch, and/or selecting landscape format; but the
    printer only prints default pitch and portrait format.

775.3What format style?IOSG::NEWLANDRichard Newland, IOSG, REO1-D/4AThu Jun 04 1992 03:0814
When you perform the print operation and the 'Printing Document' form is
displayed what do you type into the 'Document destination' field, and do
you type anything into the 'Format style' field?

If you leave the 'Format style' field blank could you press TAB and see
what style is displayed.

It's possible that you may be formatting the WPS-PLUS documents for another
type of printer, such as LP11, which will result in default pitch and
orientation.

    for the 'document destination' we put PORT LN03, and for the
    'format sytle' LN03LAND. This format style works for the
     other printer types. This is the first ln07 I've come across

Could you go into System Management and use MPR PT (if I remember the V2.4
options correctly) to display the information about the LN03LAND format
style, and list the information here.

Re: .6

The Printer Device type 'LN03LAND' is specifying that the WPS-PLUS
formatter uses a device type of LN03LAND and therefore LN03LAND.PRA and
LN03LAND.PRA printer table files.

LN03LAND.PRA/.PRC are not part of the standard ALL-IN-1 kit. My guess is
that the printer control sequences which work for an LN03 do not work for
an LN07. It's possible that the DECLASER .PRA/.PRC printer table files
could be used to create equivalent files for printing landscape on an LN07.

If you are not using WPS-PLUS V4.0 and do not have DECLASER .PRA/.PRC files
see the WPS-PLUS-V3 conference for information on DECLASER.PRA/.PRC files
for WPS-PLUS V3.1
