3382.0. "DECWpaint : invcodtyp and phyendinp errors" by SWTHOM::TISSERAND (Jean-Marc TISSERAND TSC FRANCE) Mon Sep 24 1990 14:06

Hi,

One of my customer generates a ddif file using decwindows paint. He saves
it (version n-2) and call paint again. He modifies the image and then
saves it again (version n-1 and version n)

When calling the CDA viewer on his file version n, he gets the error :
img-f-invcodtyp, invalid code type during decompression.

On version n-1, he gets the error :
ddif-e-phyendinp, physical end of input before end of encoding.

A convert/doc of version n to a PS file works fine, but the PS file does
not contain the modifications after version n-2.

Sounds like a problem with the ddif information in the file ?

	Any idea ?

Thanks in advance.

Jean-Marc.

3382.1Can you provide a little more information?DDIF::MUNYANSteve Munyan, ZK2-2/O23, DTN 381-2264Wed Sep 26 1990 05:1321

It sounds to me like you have a version of DECpaint that is generating
DDIF that can't be handled by the CDA Viewer and PS Back End you have
    on your system.

Errors generated by the PS Converter appear inside the Postscript file.
You can see them by searching for the text *diag*. We hope to correct
    this for a future version.

Do you have DECpresent on your system? DECpresent provided a new
version of DECpaint (which allows you to generate color images).

What version of VMS and DECwindows are you running?

You might be able to get a better answer to this problem in the CDA
conferences located on DDIF. If you've already entered it there please
disregard this message. I just got back from vacation and am almost
1000 notes behind in my work related conferences.
