1247.0. "Printing PAINT pictures on SIXEL devices" by H2SO4::GERSBACH () Wed Aug 09 1989 08:38

I've searched this conference several times because I couldn't beleive that I'm
the first one encountering this bug, but could not find any releated topic.

When I print a PAINT picture on a sixel device, a stream-lf file is created with
only one record (which RMS complains beeing not terminated!). This is fine as
long as the picture is not too complex.

As soon as this output record exceeds 32767 bytes, the file can no longer be
printed! Unfortunately this limit is reached rather soon. I did it with a
picture of only 26 rectangular boxes using a fill pattern.

Is this bug really not yet known?

The bug is known, and has been fixed. 'twas one of the many problems with
printing in V1 paint. If you can get your hands on any of the baselevels of
DECwindows V2, you will see this problem fixed.
