2786.0. "How do I get the rest of the stuff!???!!" by STOSS1::DPROSE () Tue Jun 03 1997 04:46

    Sorry about asking such a novice question but I am very new to the VTX
    application. I have been a user of VTX for years but now that we are
    loosing access to some systems I installed VTX on a local system that
    manage.

    Now that its installed how do I get the stuff that I'm used to seeing
    to show up.
    I need
    vtx dial
    vtx elf
    vtx ext......

    regards
    Dennis

2786.1Need to define a VTX serverMPGS::DEVIrecycled stardustTue Jun 03 1997 18:0513
    You need to define a VTX server at the system level. You should point
    to a VTX site server that is most near your location.

    You'd include a line such as the following in your system startup file:

    $DEFINE VTX$SERVER NODENAME::"""xx="""

    	nodename = name of the VAX running the VTX server
        xx = the DECnet object number assigned to the VTX server

    Where are you located?

Dennis,
  It also depends on if you're running Teamlinks Library Services (the VTX
windows client - we renamed it to TLS to confuse people). If so, you need
to specify the VTX server by clicking "define" in the "Servers" dialog box
whichi you get as a result of selecting the "Connect..." option on the
"Navigate" menu.

    Dennis - Try defining your VTX server to ACIS01, DECnet object 200

    That's a server running in Chicago.
