2780.0. "UDFSYM, CDA$CONVERT " by 26112::ODONNELL () Fri Mar 28 1997 22:58

    Hi,

    My installation of VTX 6.2 failed.
    I have seen several notes about a possible fix, but
    I haven't seen anything more recent than VTX 6.2,

    I am running VMS 7.0, but no Motif or Windows.

    Thank you for any help.

Hi,

Have a look at topic 621 (.3) of the VTX-BUGS conference (GALVIA::VTX_BUGS).

    ... you need to copy cda$access.exe and then install it /shared or *
* running VTX will fail with the message you received. *
*                                                                              *
* of course this is only if cda$access.exe is not there originally... *
*                                                                              *

Jean,
  the quickest solution is to copy CDA$ACCESS.EXE from
HNGOVR::PUBU$:[DUKE] and put it into SYS$SHARE in the customer system.
  The problem is that the version of CDA$ACCESS.EXE on your system is a stub
version that was put into VMS by mistake as a replacement for the real thing.
The stub version doesn't contain the CDA$CONVERT symbol which is the error you
get.
