A great idea, Bonnie!  I'll try to get my act together and get you a photo
of my family, and perhaps copies of the wonderful women I met last April!

    I think it is a great idea!  I just need to know what you want and I
    will send it!  Even if we got together a book and photocopied it
    (copiers make great pictures now) it would be kind of neat, especially
    for the remote people!

    re Bonnie and Maggie, yeah, I was going to ask you about that.  I
    really can't afford to dish out any money for an album or anything else
    up front.  I'd really need to have the money first.  Also, I know that
    Ann Broomhead, Nancy Bittle and D! Carroll all have pictures from
    parties that would be interesting in the photo album, but who is going
    to pay to get all those negatives developed???

    I think a lot of us will definitely pay to make sure that the
    picture of us in the album is a flattering one!  (There were
    five or six pictures of me taken for that Inner Visions roll
    of film.  Did you see more than one?  No.)
    
    In fact, that Inner Visions roll is already a duplicate which
    I hereby donate to the album, except for those pictures that
    people will pay me to leave out.

    YES!  I'll pay for the permanent and utter disposal of the photo
    of me at inner visions.  It's even worse than my employee ID photo.  
    
    Hey! this is a way of raising bucks for the album.  Take a bunch
    of truly unflattering photos and then hold them for ransom.
    $2.00 to tear the print and negative into itty-bitty pieces, $5.00
    to burn both.

     We could of course allow technology to help out... all that is needed
    is a friendly person with access to a 'scanner', and one with a
    workstation/vt1000/vt1200. 
    
    Scan in the picture and put it in a library where we can all access it.
    Use the CDA viewer to looksee. 
    
    We did this with some photos taken of the mysterious circles appearing
    in the UK... Indeed, using our lps40, I have printed an a4 copy of the
    photo held by the person inthe UK...

    I would object to being in a scanned album.  I feel people should have
    the right to decide whether their pix get publicly available to the
    entire net or not.

    Sorry everyone, I have been on vacation....looks like someone has
    already taken over the album thing.....what can I do now?
    
    Will this album be in one place?  can't we get it together and
    photocopy it so remote people would have a chance to see it?
    
    Why not put it together, (photocopy) and then if someone is really 
    interested in it we could sell it for a few bucks!  I would pay!  
    I would love to see all the people that I "talk" to? This would help
    defray the cost!

    I am sorry to say that I will be on vacation next week also, and I
    can't hook up from home...I probably could, but I just don't know
    how, I think I have all the parts, but who knows..??...so I won't

    I just purchased the photo album.  Would anyone who would like to
    donate a picture of themselves or pictures of a womannotes event,
    please send it/them to me so I can put them in the album.  I guess you
    could send the pictures through interoffice mail (Lorna St.Hilaire,
    MLO3-6/C9) or U.S. mail (Lorna St.Hilaire, Digital, MLO3-6/C9, 146 Main
    St., Maynard, MA  01754).
    
    I know there are a few people who have taken pictures at parties that
    would be good for the album, such as D! Carroll and Ann Broomhead's
    pictures of the Innervisions Party and some of the pictures Nancy
    Bittle has taken.  If any of you would like to contribute any of these
    pictures for the album , it would be appreciated! :-)  I have also seen
    various pictures taken of the march in Washington that would be good
    for the album, too.

    Rumor has it that the postal folks in the Mill toss out things they
    presume to not be business-related.  Since our community *is* business-
    related, I'd suggest that anyone sending photos to Lorna also put on
    the envelope the new DIGITAL PERSONAL stamp, front and back.  Your
    department administrator or site personnel office should have the
    stamps.

    	I want to see the album but I wonder how many photos are in it
    already?  Maybe I should wait until after the Anniversary Party - there
    should be plenty of good piccies from that.

    more incriminating the better :-) ).  If I can get my photo in there
    from Australia then just about anybody should be able to!

    the album.  I've waited a long time to see it and this should give a
    good opportunity to get some good photos of many more of the =wn=
    community.
    
    	I suppose it will take a couple of weeks to get photos processed
    and then put in the album but then how do I arrange to get it here?  Is
    somebody visiting Australia?

    actually, David, your photo *is* in the album!  As well as many other
    peoples'.  The album doesn't have many more open pages, though, so
    we'll need to order some or find some (I'm sure MANY awesome pix will
    be taken the 5th anniversary weekend!)
    
    Then, like the FRIENDS album, we can surely send it round to all the
    womannoters who could not make THIS anniversary party!  Who *knows*
    about the 10th though!~

    Perhaps it's time to put the photo album on-line? I know that one other
    conference is doing that. All it takes in one person with a high
    quality digitizer and someone who knows how to build different format
    (PostScript and Bookreader) books. This is a computer company isn't it?

    I will be comfortable with it online only if people can nix entry of
    pictures of themselves.  We've discussed this before, and

    With a real photo album, it's a bit of trouble to get your own copies.
    With an online one, it's so easy that photos might circulate much
    farther than the subjects might want or might appreciate.

    There are some that just aren't comfortable with their appearence in
    pictures.

I have photos that I took 2 years ago during my last Mass visits.  The photos
are of the people who attended the various events I went to, one of which was a
=WN= FWO dinner at May Ling's.  I brought the duplicates to share, but only
remembered to show them at a couple of the events, then left them at Sunday
Brunch.  Joyce has agreed to make them available to folks, as these are
duplicates.  If you are in a photo, and you want that photo, it is yours. 
Left-over photos may be entered in the =wn= photo album.

    Peter, we've managed to find where the hugs are being held hostage.  We
    understand that the woman holding them, E Grace Noonan, is demanding
    photographs in exchange for their release.  It seems like a simple
    request, Peter, but the government negotiation team states that there
    is to be no giving in to terrorist demands.
    
    We have verified that the hugs are being well cared for; they have
    plenty of food, and Noonan has not threatened to injure any of them. 
    The police are concerned because there seems to be an incerdible number
    of the hostages, and there is question as to how long Noonan can
    continue to keep them healthy without bringing someone in for them to
    hug...

    softly I stole in....up the stairs...all my hug-ninja training coming
    into use.  The moon spilled over the railing onto the landing as I
    magickally slid back the bolt in silent splendor and approached the
    hostage area.  They chittered happily to see me, and their wide-eyed
    wonder turned to glee as one by one I was able to free them.  I could
    only smuggle out a select few, but promised the others they had not
    been abandoned, and that with the help of womannoters everywhere and
    the magic of Eastman Kodak they too would be free soon......

 Put it in an unprotected directory, mail a pointer and wait until it's copied
before reprotecting it.

 I do this with my specs all the time.

    You can try a send/foreign.  sometimes this works with binary files,
    but it isn't a guaranteed delivery.  DECnet just doesn't care for
    binary files in mail.
