3.0. "Intros: the Men of our community" by RANGER::MODERATOR () Wed Apr 18 1990 03:18

Please introduce yourself here; although the file is oriented to
the needs and wishes of women, we do care very much about the men
    of our community too.

Thanks to Jym Dyer for starting this in V1.

3.2Phil from Hudson/Nashua N.H.CGVAX2::CONNELLThu Apr 19 1990 16:3516
Hi all. I'm Phil Connell. I've just started to become active in V2 and
now it's time to get into a new volume. I live in Hudson N.H and work
at NQO (DECDirect Order Fullfillment, the warehouse) in incoming
    inspection.

I'm 37 years old, divorced father of 2 teenager's. Amy, my daughter is
leaving for Europe tomorrow and I'm nervous as heck. I'm here to mostly
read and learn. (Read: raised conciousness) I'll reply once in a while
and maybe more as my courage and knowledge grows.

I read quite a few other Notesfiles (N.H, Dejavu, Mennotes, H_R,
Comics) and so far this is the only one I've felt any large degree of
comfort replying in. Thank you all for that.

3.5john RAB::HEFFERNANJuggling FoolThu Apr 19 1990 18:2045
Hi!!!

My name is John Heffernan and I work in CAG in ZK02 in Nashua having
been with Digital for 5 years. I am a Principal Software Engineer and
project leader on a product called Data Access Facility (DAF).
Enough of the boring stuff! ;-)

I am interested in seeing clearly what role my own cultural
conditioning has in my own life. Sometimes when I think I am aware
and "cured" of most of it; I find out that I am not. I am
interested in living a life where all beings are seen as they are
without preconditioned thoughts due to their race, sex, or physical
appearance, political beliefs, sexual preference, or current
life situation.

I am concerned with the way women and other groups are treated and
have been treated in the past. And I am also interested in how the
cultural conditioning to the in-power group affects and constrains my
own life.

Currently, I am a practizing Zen Buddhist and meditator and am
interested in both "sprititual" and political issues and especially
how they interelate. I am also active in the environmental, peace
movement, feminist, and Native American issues. For fun, I love to
juggle, dance, dance juggling, keeping in shape, reading, baking,
cooking, and music (all kinds but listened to the alot of folk, jazz,
and Grateful Dead of late). The other great joy in my life in
working at Children's Hospital as a volunteer every Wednesday night.
I also perform there once every two months with a friend who does
magic and juggling. I'm taking some dance lessons to get some ideas
about incorparating more and interesting dance moves into my routines.

I live alone in Acton, MA and am currently single. Reading my last
intro, I noted that I was involved with a strident, rabid,
glass-chewing feminist and I wanted to read this file to understand
where she was coming from. Well, that happened and I made many
wonderful friends from this file and came to understand women and
myself a little better (we hope ;-).

In my last intro I wrote, "I have no idea what I will contribute or learn
from this conference but no doubt something will happen."

peace,
john

3.6Congrats, V3HOO78C::VISSERSDutch ComfortThu Apr 19 1990 20:5720
Ad Vissers, Central Response Group, Utrecht, The Netherlands (to be
called Holland from now on). As I said in V2 note 3.116 my primary goal
here is to find some more input to learn from, but let me add to that
that I really appreciate the considerate style of this conference. I
must admit that sometimes I still feel I'm not quite adapted to that
    yet.

To tell some personal things: I'm 32, single, and share my apartment
with two cats. I like music (almost everything except C&W and
Schlagers), film, SF, travel, noting, photography, and I'm (almost)
always game for few drinks in a nice bar and meet a few new people.

Around the net I can be found in EF90 (comod), Friends (comod),
Conversation (comod) (well I like drivel sometimes!), Human_Relations,
Euro-woman, World_Forum, and a few unnannounced and even some technical
    ones.

I'm happy to see V3, and I wish it all my best.

I'm Alan Ross, still a Systems-type and still residing in PKO.
(Some things never seem to change).

I've been participating in -WN- since the summer of 1987.

I'm married, and have two grown children from my first marriage.

3.9Hi from Down-UnderGIDDAY::WALESDavid from Down-underThu Apr 19 1990 22:4914
    G'Day,

I'm David Wales from Sydney, Australia! I make up 25% of the
Aussie =wn= readership. I am a CS Engineer working in the Logistics
Repair Centre at Lane Cove, Sydney (SNL).

I'm almost (1 more week) 28, married with no kids. Been with DEC
    for just over 5 years.

=wn= version 2 was fun (most of the time) so let's see if we can
get version 3 off to a good start and keep it that way.

    David.

3.10Charles HaynesOXNARD::HAYNESCharles HaynesFri Apr 20 1990 02:5519
Hello all, I'm Charles Haynes. I work in Palo Alto California as a
programmer. I've been living with Janice Comstock since 1975, we were
married in 1985. We have one kid (so far) - Kai Comstock - born April 5,
1990. We have two cats Teddy and Scheherezad (abyssinians). Janice is a
programmer too, but not with DEC.

I've been with DEC since 1984, working on various things having to do with
    Unix and workstations.

I'm moderately tall, and fairly thin, with waist length black hair and an
earring. I tend to dress in engineer drag - t-shirt and levis.

I like rock climbing, whitewater rafting, downhill skiing, backpacking,
reading trashy SF, "artsy" depressing foreign movies - especially
Japanese, programming, cooking, eating, and my beautiful baby boy.

I'm a strident feminist - reproductive rights division.

I am Pat Wilson and I work at DVO in facilities. I am mostly a "read

My wife, Nancy and I have been married for 5 years now and our first
child is due this December. We also share the house with two cats and
    two dogs.

I've been with DEC a little over 19 years. My title is Project

    	memory chips.

3.13Jim HendersonBOSOX::HENDERSONIt ain't me you're looking forFri Apr 20 1990 19:3518
Jim Henderson, Priority Operations manager for Customer Services Logistics
in Andover, MA.

Been with DEC for 13 years (in August). Since joining Digital I've lived
in Colorado Springs (twice), Phoenix and here in New England, originally from
Northern California (silicon valley area). One of these days I want to wind
up somewhere west of here. Divorced for 3 months, 3 boys 19, 13 and 7 all of
whom live with their mother. So far we have a friendly divorce and I have easy
access to the kids.

Up to now I've been 100% read only. I have found the conference helpful as
I adjust to being single again (loving it so far), and as I seek to grow.

Other interests include reading, long walks, music (mostly Grateful Dead and
blues oriented music) dancing, cooking, and slowly getting into excersize.

3.14David WittenbergULTRA::WITTENBERGSecure Systems for Insecure PeopleFri Apr 20 1990 20:2912
I'm David Wittenberg, and I work in Architecture and Advanced
Development in the Secure Systems Group.

I'm getting married on June 3, and most of my energy these days
    goes into planning the wedding.

I've been in earlier versions of =wn=, and am just returning after
a two month absence. I'm hoping that this version will be able to
control some of the ping-pong noting that drove me away from the
    last version.

3.15Doug GordonWAYLAY::GORDONHouse poor...Sat Apr 21 1990 16:3441
I'm Doug Gordon, and on this, my 30th birthday, I think it's
appropriate for me to sign in to V3. I'm here because, in the words of
Gregory McDonald's character I. M. Fletcher, "I collect people."

I'm a Software Specialist IV (what a silly title) working for
Internal Software Services (ISWS) out of Parker Street, but for my nearly
four years at DEC I've been contracted to Manufacturing Engineering
Information Systems in Tewksbury. I've been reading =wn= since the first
week I was at DEC. I do software and system management. I generally
describe my job as "jack-of-all-trades, resident lighting designer and
director of pyrotechnic effects."

There are probably a lot of changes coming in the next couple of
months. I bought a house in Nashua, (closing in mid-May) and will be
looking to move my job towards NH in the near future to dodge the double
tax bite.

I've stuck out what I consider some low content periods in previous
versions of =wn= because the "me" of today is much more aware of some
things than the "me" of four years ago, largely because of this file. I am
the product of all the people I encounter which tends to make me a liberal
moderate with a random crazy streak.

Outside of work, I used to be the resident lighting designer for
the Walpole Footlighters and have even appeared on stage. Distance from
Walpole has curtailed that activity, but I will probably be looking for a
new group in the fall. I attaend the theater as oftean as my schedule and
budget permit. Reading & Music are also big on my list.

Around the net, you can find me here, or in ASKENET, THEATRE,
HACKERS (all of which I host & co-moderate), H_R, and some fourty other
conferences I keep up with as much as possible.

I'm "mostly harmless" and attend most of the =wn= parties. Perhaps
now that I own a house, I'll offer to host one.

I don't really know what got into me today, my previous intros have
been much shorter than this. Ah yes, and I sign my notes with either "--D"
or:

    Name:	Marty Jack

    Job:	Consulting Software Engineer, DHSG
At DEC 13 years. I've done languages, operating systems,
graphics, utilities, a little real-time, a little hardware.
Personal:	40, only child, married to Barbara Bazemore (another member
    		of this community).

Why did I start reading? Lunchtime discussion with JimB. Why do
I keep reading? It brings a smile to my lips, a tear to my eye,
and a thought to my brain. I will write on occasion when I believe
I can contribute a fresh insight. I get a lot from this file, but
time pressures often prevent me from participating more actively.

I'm Douglas C Buckland, although most people know me as Bob.

I'm a Program Manager working out of the Ottawa office in Canada.
I've been with Digital in England, and now in Canada, since 1977
with a short break when I immigrated to Canada.

I'm married (21 years) to a woman I met on a blind date when I was
working in Myanmar - my first job after university. Have one son
    (17) who seems to spend more of my money than I do.

Came into =wn= as a reader last summer, decided I like it here and
now feel comfortable writing as well as reading. Still however
in learn mode, probably always will be. Have noticed an increased
awareness of some of the subtle sexism in society since I've been
here so I am getting something from this. Hopefully at some time
    I can contribute something back.

    Cheers,

Persuasions:

Traditional values but not to the exclusion of good sense; ideas stand
  on their own merits.

Religious in the sense that I am an active church member (for your
definitions); I do not place my faith in my religion but rather my
religion is an expression of my faith.

I have opinions on almost anything, some less firm than others; I attempt
to try ideas in the courtroom of objectivity. Being strongly opined
in one direction does not need to mean closed-minded.

Hi, I'm Dan Penny, an Industrial Eng. at the KAO (Kanata, Canada)
facility. I'm married (13 yrs. in Nov.), and we have two wonderful
children; Michael who's eight on the thirteenth of this month, and
Nebraska, who turned five the end of February.

I'm going to be forty (wow, already!) in August. I'm mostly a read
only, finding out how women view things, which certainly helps in my
own relationship. Yes, we've had our ups and downs, but it sure is
getting better, and this file helps that. You'll see an occasional

I'm still more or less Ray Davis.

During weekdays I can be found at ZKO, Gnashua NH. During nights and
weekends, I'm in Cambridge and Boston (with fairly frequent jaunts to
    NYC).

I'm one of those most grisly of beasts, the apolitical male "feminist".

I read, eat, drink, watch films, talk, write, listen to music, and
wander on foot. Hot buttons include dehumanization, dull mainstream
art, journalism, attacks on birth control rights, and conformity.
Pleasure centers include the English language, harsh medicine (honesty,
for example), aestheticism, cities, eccentricity, and cool weather.

My =wn= persona is too cautious for my tastes but that's life in the
big city... I also note in RADIO_RADIO, BOOKS, JOYOFLEX, and the usual
    suspects.

at ZKO (Nashua, NH), and all of them writing documentation for project
management software. Having done battle at 3 other companies since

I'm mostly read only, and write when I feel I can add a thought or
perspective. I'm here because my best friends are women -- I enjoy

that I can stay sensitive to those points of view and find new ways
of being supportive of my best friend.

Hello All,

I've been reading thru V2 of this conference off and on for a couple of years,
find it thought provoking, figured I may as well introduce myself.

I'm Karl Reebenacker, learning to be a System Test Engineer in low end systems
at PKO. I started working here a little over a month ago after making good my
escape from FXO 8^), with a much needed week of carving up some Rocky Mountain
snow in between jobs. I was a Hardware Engineer, am now a Software Engineer,
talk about culture shock.

I'm recently divorced, amicably w/no kids, and a fanatical skier starting to
experience withdrawal symptoms. Participate in several other Notes conferences,
mostly read only. Actively note in, you guessed it, SKIING. Been a Deccie for
3.5 years.

My political leanings tend to be moderate to conservative Republican. I
wouldn't vote for Mike Dukakis for dogcatcher. I'm pro choice but, for reasons
that are my own, personally uncomfortable with the idea of abortion. I
consider myself a "humanist".

Heylo. I'm Daniel Katz, a 21 year-old TAG on his last leave term
before returning to Dartmouth College to get my BA in English
    Literature and Creative Writing.

Before anyone asks, yes, there is a lot of pig-ignorant sexism at
Dartmouth, but we're working on changing that. Some people just
need to have it chiseled out of them.

I've just recently started reading this note, and am enjoying it
immensely -- makes my editorial columnist instincts twitch again.

And let's see...the biggest hoot I've had at DEC so far is...

    "You're a SECRETARY????"

I had to deal with that a lot the last time I was on leave term,
doing essentially the same job. I got a lot of calls for "Danielle"
    Katz. Hee.

I've been reading and participating in =wn= since a few months after
I joined Digital over 2 years ago. Prior to that, I'd spent four years
on active duty in the Air Force, following four years of college and
AFROTC. Those eight-plus years involved some heavy supression within
myself of character traits that weren't convenient nor acceptable in
the male-oriented world of a military officer. I found =wn= to be a
wonderful place to help me examine my attitudes and re-adjust, after
that self-suppressing experience. This community gave me strength,
challenged my motivations, taught me to listen, and enabled me to
change my life, far to the better. This journey is not easy, and its
not over; nor shall it ever be. But I am now a radical feminist.
    Joyously. Thank you, womannotes.

I used to be active in various other notes conferences a year

    Ciao from Italy!

I'm Andy Takats, 29, married to an Italian woman with a big friendly
family. After 6 years in the states, we're back here (I lived here 2
years before we got married and moved to the U.S.), this time with
our fun daughter Selene (2.4), for an undetermined period. I'm
going to finally study some architecture, we'll try living here for
while, and then we'll see. There's never a shortage of challenges
with international relationships; so far we're doing OK.

I've become very sensitive to women's issues over the years living with
Antonella, and especially now with Selene. A few months ago, after
hearing about Model Mugging at my old work (MASSCOMP/Concurrent), I
encouraged Antonella to take the course; she did, and it was a good
learning experience for her and for me.

weeks); I'm not sure how long I'll be around, but it's great to
be able to follow events, etc., in the U.S. I'll be in touch.

I introduced myself in an earlier incarnation of this file, but much
has changed since then. Recently I have felt able to read this
conference (and other human relationship conferences) again, so perhaps
    I should re-introduce myself.

My name is Ian Frederic Philpott, I am a [full] colonel in the British
Army reserve, I have a doctorate in mathematical physics (ballistics) -
so you could perhaps call me "colonel doctor", but please don't :-)

I now work as a a "windowing systems consultant" in the Southern
    Technology Resource Unit in England.

My wife, Usa Ann (Usa means "dawn") is Thai - the nickname that appears
in my personal name above means "black lion" in Thai - it is my in-laws
nickname for me, though the origins are a bit hard to explain (they
date back to the early part of my military career).

My wife and I met in America - we were both living in New Hampshire at
the time, and after a whirlwind courtship we married in Merrimack, NH,
much to the annoyance of my parents. My contract ended and we came to
live in Britain, a land that is totally alien to my wife, and
increasingly so to me - it is amazing how you perceive prejudice for
the first time when you place yourself outside of the mainstream of
local society. We still hope to move back to America, but 'que sera
sera' ... perhaps we will move to the US, perhaps Australia, perhaps
Thailand. This might be hastened if I get "rightsized" out of the local
    operation here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've been reading and enjoying this file for months now. Now that I've
begun shooting off my mouth, I guess the time has come to introduce
  myself.

Since coming to work for Digital almost 8 years ago, I've had the
opportunity to work with women in peer relationships and on both ends of
the boss/subordinate relationship. It's been great fun.

My SO's name is Alison and we've been together for 13 years now (married
for 8+ of them). There have been good times and bad but the amazing thing
is that there appears to be a general upward trend toward good times.
Knowing her has given me reason enough to like women in general.

While I think prejudice is wrong (at least the coarse granularity
prejudice like male/female and black/white) I don't think that harping
on the wrongness of prejudice is likely to improve today's sad
situation. Instead, I think that change is more likely to be achieved by
pointing out the cost of prejudice. I don't think that we can afford to
handicap (or waste completely) approximately half of our brains and
talent. We can't afford it in our company nor in our country nor in our
  world.

I intend to go back to being a quiet voyeur because I am more likely to
learn things if I stay silent. Furthermore, the last thing this file
needs is yet another opinionated male (and that describes me pretty darn
well). I would like to thank the participants of this file for providing
more in the way of wisdom, compassion, and forbearance than I have seen
  in a long time.

I've been with DEC for just over 9 years as a software specialist in New Jersey,
then a maintainability (ugh! jargon alert!) engineer in Littleton, Mass., and
since October, a software engineer. I'm 33, married to another software
engineer (who prefers small companies), and I've been a quiet feminist of sorts
for at least half my life.

I've been an off-and-on reader of this conference since its first year. I can't
keep up with the flood of activity, but I drop in occasionally. I've left
several times when things have seemed too angry or when my noting time became
too limited, but my curiosity's always gotten me back.

I really value the thoughtful, caring tone of this conference, and I want to
see it continue -- and thrive.

    Hi!

My name is David Savage, based (and born) in the UK.

I'm a 33 year old, single guy with 'normal' (?!?) tendencies, although the
sense of humour gets a bit out of hand sometimes, who has been
fortunate to travel and work quite extensively in the USA and Europe,
making many friends in the process.

I care enough to want to know how, and what, various people think and
that is my reason for reading.

The personal side, which is fractionally more interesting than the work
aspect, centres around a fairly active (skiing, sailing, hill climbing,
theatre, films, music) hub interspersed with healthy couch potato
balancing spells (who wants to go out on a winter's night when the log
fire is built up and friends have turned up??).

The *professional* side is that of a Business Analyst specialising in
CASE tools and structured methods.... I told you it was boring.

Anyway, thanks for a whole gamut of emotions whether it be amusement,
concern, horror or more stomach turning. Congratulations and best
    wishes in your resolves.

Since I already entered some notes, perhaps this serves to
    formalize my being in here.
I have been noting around various files for four years now,
but just last week I entered this file for the first time.
    Curiosity, I suppose.
I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains and work in Santa Clara,
    California.
In regards to women, I like them. They also present me with
some of my greatest challenges. ;-)
I work hard at understanding who I am, and part of that process
means understanding who others are...and when it has to do with
my prefered sexual appetites, more understanding of a women's reality
becomes imperative. Perhaps that is why I am here at this time in
    this file.
I tend to be honest and express myself freely. Some of you are
aware of that already. :-) Anyway, since this file is clearly
intended to be a safe refuge for women somehow, I will endeavor
to respect that space and "hold myself back" perhaps more than
    I might otherwise.
If there are any personals about me that are important to you,
    then you'll discover them.

I've been read-only in =wn= for a while, but now that I've entered a reply
I figure I should introduce myself...

My name is Jim Paradis, and I work in the Alpha Migration Tools group at
LTN (one of DEC's ghost-towns; the building is about half empty...) My
technical expertise is in UNIX internals (I spent a year in the ULTRIX group
at ZKO before coming here), but the work I'm doing now is causing me to
branch out into other areas (something I've wanted to do for a while anyway).
I'm 29 years old, married to a WONDERFUL woman, no kids (and no plans to have
any), 5 cats. In addition to my techie pursuits, I like cooking (I do most
of the cooking at our house), carpentry (we're renovating a 100-year-old
house), music (I sing and play french horn [no, NOT at the same time!]),
science fiction, and lots of other things.

I'm here because I've always had an interest in gender related issues...
ever since I was first told as a child that I "threw like a girl",
"walked like a girl", etc. Now that I look back on it, I notice that
a LOT of the early social patterns I developed are often described as
"feminine". It wasn't until later as a teenager that I started absorbing
some of the so-called "male" patterns. I find that some characteristics
of each side are quite useful to me (e.g. the female desire to build
consensus, and the male assertiveness), while others I sometimes find
detrimental (e.g. the female's tendency to passivity, and the male's
competitiveness). I see my life as a continual striving to find the
best of both sides; male AND female. You might say that I stumbled on
Taoism without knowing what it was 8-)

As I said, I've been read-only up until now, but more and more I'm feeling
the need to respond to some of what I read with observations of my own.
So you'll be seeing more of me 8-)

Take care, everyone!

I've only just started replying to notes but have been reading
for a few weeks. I've found wn very interesting. I think more
men should read it - they might learn something !

    	An American in Germany here. . . . .

My name's Rob Harrah, 35, single parent of an 8 year old daughter.
Write code, fix users' problems, translate documents, go to meetings.
Also read NOTES a lot when the system isn't to slow. I enjoy living
near Frankfurt, but sometimes feel out of touch with things from "back
in the real world". Hopefully, this electronic medium is a touchstone
    to a land that I miss (sometimes. . . .)

    Rob,

If you miss it that much, why not move back here? I mean this
completely objectively, of course. There aren't enough 35-year-old
unmarried men in America, so why not do something for your country?

    	Hi Eileen -

    	   Why stay in Europe ?

    	1. I really, really like working for DEC in Germany. The overall
benefits package (2 mos. per year off, a car, total health care
coverage, et al . .) make it to be a good deal, even if the taxes are
    awful.

    	2. My daughter is getting a first rate education, as well as three
    languages.

    	3. The food is outstanding . .;-). . . .

    	4. I've been in "read-only" mode about the states for the last 10
years, apart from vacations. I would be more than a little bit scared
of being or feeling out-of-place. Sometimes, the things I read (or see
on CNN here) sadden or depress me. I know that the whole country is
not down the tubes, yet the sensationalistic aspects of modern
journalism tend to leave me with a skewed outlook on life in America.

    	5. Besides, the presently cheap dollar makes easy enough to fly
back whenever those ol' homesick blues get too intense.

Well, then, I'll just have to move to Europe. :-)
Actually, I know some of the benefits of living in Europe,
as I used to live there (Ireland). The educational benefits
are especially good, but the two months off would be the
deciding factor for me. I'm planning to go to the south of France
next year. If it's anything like what I've heard, I may never
    come back.

Yup, I've grown quite, quite accustomed to the two months off per year
thing. Actually, for employees of DEC Germany, it is more. . . . 2
months off is the base, plus the work week is 37.5 hrs. per week,
although we work 40, yielding 2.5 hrs. a week surplus. We get to
credit these hours towards the vacation time per year. What this
really means is that an employee gets a *lot* of time off. Plus, the
number of vacation days per year is indexed to your age, with more days
    off as you get older.

More reasons to like working over here (but I still miss good BBQ!)

   Hi Everyone!!

I'm Paul DiTommaso. 29 (and holding) ... Software Engineer, working in
Marketing at the moment. This October is my 5th year at DEC (YEA! 3 weeks
   vacation!!!!) I live in Marlboro.

Its been four years since I've read and written to womannotes ... I figure
its about time I write again! I know some of you already, but for those of
you who I don't know, here is some more info.

   Interests:

I love to cook, ... for myself and others. I cook all sorts of styles,
but prefer italian, chinese and cajun. I love wine also, and try new
wines every chance I get. I prefer red wines.

I'm pretty active. I produce theatre shows, run sound for theatre and
other events in the city. I DJ on my spare time. I love to ski and
play volleyball. I try to keep fit and work out as much as possible.
(which isn't enough, there just aren't enough hours in a day). I tend
to be a night time person, staying up late and getting up late. I love
to socialize, which is why I get involved in so many things.

Well, I've rambled long enough, hopefully not too long!

Hi,

I'm Scott Forten and I work here in LKG Littleton as a graphics coordinator for
T&N Publications. I am usually an on again/off again reader of womannotes
and mennotes but since I placed a reply here, I feel it polite to introduce
myself.

I have worked for DEC for almost five years (four in Security at BUO training
Center) and have enjoyed being here. I've met alot of friendly people and
have met many wonderful friends through various note conferences. I hope to
meet many here as well.

I come from a large family (five sisters and a brother) and currently am living
in Lexington with two of my sisters, my nephew, and father. One of my sisters
works for Digital too.

What I like to do on my spare time?

Swim - I've been swimming since I was a baby and just love to swim underwater
as opposed to swimming above water. On summer nights, I'd often go
swimming in my pool at 3am just to relax and think.

Read - I love books, especially horror books. I have most of Stephen King's
novels, all of Dean R Koontz, and dozens of other authors. At one point
I had over three hundred books. On a quite week, I can read three
       good sized books.

Cook - I love to cook for my family and someday want to have my own gourmet
       kitchen with everything in it.

Eat - Eating out with good friends is a very enjoyable event. There's nothing
like good friends, food, and conversation. I've enjoyed several different forms
of cuisines like this; Thai, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Vietnamese, Ethiopian,
Mexican, etc. Fortunately, I don't look like I enjoy eating. ;^)

Dancing - I love to dance. I dance at work (I've been caught dancing in my
office a few times) at home and I go to Boston 4 times a week. Mostly
to BUDDIES and then CITI on Sundays.

Well, that's about it (ABOUT IT?!!? JEESH! THAT'S ENOUGH ;^) )
Hope to be a regular participant in this conference.

Scott
