Robert Johnson, King of the Delta Blues.

Robert Plant, loved the early Zepplin stuff.

Tim Buckly, "Greeting from L.A." takes a musical look into the
darkside of sex and love. His voice is used like an instrument.

Pavaratti (sp?) he looks like Meatloaf but his voice melts me.

Roy Orbison, his last album is one of my favorites.

    Some of my current favorites:

David Bowie -- i think he has a wonderful voice.

David Wilcox -- He was an opener for someone I really wanted to

(then I bought his first album)

    Ah the incredible Otis Redding.....

and Roland Gift, of Fine Young Cannibals, who learned much from the
    master.

Bobby McFerrin is probably the greatest vocal artist of our time; one
of the most original artists period.

The Rev. Al Green could sing the phone directory, and I'd listen.

Jim Morrison was the best rock vocalist.

Many of the previous rock singers named in prior notes are interesting
artists, but IMHO many are very poor singers.

re .39, I did already mention Mick Jagger! (so there, Dana!)

I *knew* nobody ever really read my notes! The only time anybody ever
reads any of my notes is when I say something really mean about
somebody who deserves it, and then Maggie reads it and sets it hidden.
Other than that, nobody ever reads them so I can write whatever I want
cause nobody's going to read it anyway.

I also have a male friend that I help to antique shows and he never
*listens* to me!! He always asks me things I've told him 15 mins.
    earlier!

All my life, nobody has ever listened to a damn thing I've ever said or
read anything I've ever written! (so to hell with the world!)

Cat Stevens is a Moslem, and, in fact, when the Ayatollah called for
the death of that writer last year or the year before, Cat Stevens said
that he was in favor of it. (terrible grammar, but you get the point)
That's why some radio stations were burning his records.
