284.0. "things we'd like to do someday" by DECWET::JWHITE (the company of intelligent women) Fri Aug 10 1990 03:11

283 reminded me of something lauren suggested might be a fun topic:
things we'd like to do or learn or accomplish someday. things that
are doable- within reach even- but are not going to happen anytime
soon due to the rigors and stresses of life now. for example, i'd
like to learn to speak french, german, spanish and danish; i'd like
to go to law school; i'd like to get involved in politics; i'd like
to spend a big chunk of time on a beach in jamaica sampling local
    delicacies ;^)

Someday I'd like to open my own Women's Coffee house. I'd play some of
the music, but I'd also bring in lots of different kinds of folk and
women's musicians. There'd be delicious coffees and teas and some lite
snacks, but mostly women would come there to hear music and to be
together. It would be dark and cozy, but not smokey.

ah daydreaming in this note if fun:

    My wish list:

    Explore Alaska for a year

Have another child or adopt a romanian child

Save an extint species (of the four legged variety)

Open up a herb garden on a Flordia coast line

Build my dream house on a lake or the ocean

Have enough money to just buzz off into another country at the drop
of a hat.......or the local campground, which ever comes first

Write childrens books to ease their fears about life

Having a personal tailor to whip up cloths from my design that will
fit me perfect and of course make me look skinny!

on a grey, thunderhead afternoon, when angst prevails and an
unhealthy, battlesome ambience pervades, I long for the power
to close down the coffeehouse, invite in a friend or two, eat
all the muffins, drink a bottle of wine, and not allow anyone
    to invade.

that is what I want ... someday.

    (Justine, your boot, please.)

I'm getting ready to move so last Sunday I bought 2 Sunday papers, one
of which was the Middlesex News. Just for fun, I took a look at their
help wanted section and saw an ad titled "Room, With a View" and
underneath that was a drawing of the Grand Canyon.

I'd like to live and work at the Grand Canyon for a year.

(The jobs are low-paying ($4.25-$5.10/hour) jobs working in the hotels,
restaurants, and retail shops located on the South Rim. You are
provided "dorm style" accomodations within the park, for which $16/week
is deducted from your paycheck. Bonuses for work agreements longer
    than 3 months.)

    Sigh.
