1046.0. "Worldwide Noter's Party -> 26.May" by NOATAK::BLAZEK (on a backcloth of lashes and eyes) Thu Mar 22 1990 20:11

The First Annual Worldwide Noter's Party will be held in Colorado
Springs, Saturday, 26.May 1990. This is Memorial Day weekend, so
those of us who reside in CS are willing and able to house noters
from afar and if we run out of room, which some of us already have,
we'll gladly help find accomodations for you.

In addition to the party Saturday afternoon/night, we're going to
have some other social things going on, but we don't know exactly
what yet. We'll become more organized on that as the time draws
nearer.

So far we have attendees from Australia, England and the US. Make
arrangements to join us if you can! Send mail to BSS::BLAZEK to
get on the party list, which will be updated and posted in various
notesfiles periodically. Liesl, Nanci, and I are coordinating all
this so contact any of us for any questions, help, or whatever you
you might need.

Updated info on the First Annual Worldwide Noter's Party, 26.May 1990:

In addition to the official party Saturday afternoon/evening, there are
some other interesting things going on Memorial Day weekend in Colorado
Springs as well.

Head Full of Zombies, a local band who plays music by U2, Beatles, Lime
Spiders, The Cure, David Bowie, theme song from the Peanuts (my personal
favorite), Midnight Oil, and many other interesting artists, has a show
at Renners both Friday and Saturday night, and believe me they're worth
seeing both nights. (Spoken like a true fan!)

Sunday night is a *major* party hosted by a fellow DECcie, which all of
you are invited to as well, where another local band, comprised of all
DECcies, called the Minderasers (their motto: No Brain No Pain) will be
playing. Joe Albanese, aka The Host, throws a party twice a year or so
and the results are always scandalous and quite fun.

The Hostess Committee (Liesl Kolbe, Nanci Van Fleet, and I) are trying
to plan some other sightseeing events as well, since we don't want all
of you to develop skin as pale as ours. That's all for now!

The only real problem we have with organizing activities is that there
is sooooo much to do in Colorado it's hard to choose. Everybody that's
comming better bring a good pair of walking shoes - Colorado is an
outdoor kind of place. And I'll show off my new horse to anyone and
everyone that isn't able to escape! liesl

p.s. Trust me, neither DougO or Steve died when I took them on a little
hike. ;*) It's just a little vertical incline up to Helen Hunt Falls.

I'm not sure about this, but I think that there is usually a major film
festival in Telluride during Memorial Day weekend. Roger Ebert even
attends the Telluride film festival, so you know it's got to be good.
:-) Unfortunately, Telluride is another part of the state (and
Colorado is a big state), so it is a bit of a drive from Colorado
    Springs.

1046.6Territory DaysCSC32::M_EVANSMon Apr 09 1990 18:5210
Territory days will be going on in Old Colorado City (The west side of
Colorado Springs) I have mixed feelings about advertising this. It's
good for the merchants, but lousy for residents of the area, and is
usually the reason I try to escape to the mountains. This is a giant
block party, including craft shows, open air booths of all kinds,
demonstrations, and other stuff for three days.

It is worth a trip, by bus or car-pool please.
