A better question is "Is it an effective way of letting off steam?"
Even if it may not be the _best_ way, if it is effective, then why not make use
of it? The best way may not be available. :-)

| 1) my hardware gronked, replaced same
two days pass
2) install software on new system
one day passes
3) look for last two weeks work in modified sources on new
system, not found
4) go to Coke(R) machine for drink, deposit money, watch
water, ice, syrup go done drain, sans cup.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRG!
5) Find lost sources on disk, dump disk to backup tape,
note bad block in disk, fortunately in unused area
6) restore backup tape to new system, bad block on tape
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!
