572.0. "Wish Now, It Might Come True" by FDCV03::ROSS () Fri Dec 04 1987 15:00

It's the Holiday Season once again, that time of the year when
our desire to give to others - and for others to give to us (not
necessarily material things in either case) - is most likely at
    its peak.

What ONE thing would you most like to be given (or happen to you)?

What ONE thing would you most want to give (or happen to) one par-
ticular person who is special in your life?

Well speaking right now as a moderator - I would like to give
the spirit of good fellowship and understanding to all those
who read and write in this file :-)...

What I'd really like to have happen is that I win megabucks. And then
I'd like to give my family some of the $$$ so we can all live a bit
more comfortably.

But on the realistic side, I'd really love that 100 W, remote control
stereo reciever I've been drooling over. (Well maybe not really realistic
til I buy it for me for my birthday).

And for my best friend, I'd love to give him that brand new shiny Ram Charger
he's been drooling over.

I hope that my friend Rachel finds a baby to adopt.
I hope that I get my shit together enough to start giving back to
the world instead of just absorbing.

Nice to have a lighter topic Alan.....

I'd like two front row tickets to the next Clapton concert.

For my wife, I wish she was having an easier time at home raising
our 4 month old tazmanian devil, er I mean our son.

Looks to me like you have (and I stronly suspect have never
    "just absorb[ed]").

Other than perhaps a long-term, big-advance-money contract with
any major recording label (for myself), I guess I'd wish for
each one of us a day of uninterrupted, undiluted happiness.

I wish my relationship with my SO would straighten itself out and
then we could settle down and really enjoy life.

I wish I could give my all to be a better/more independent person
and find some time and thought consuming hobbies.

Boy, this is going to be an interesting christmas.

I, too, wish I could win Megabucks and/or Mass Millions. Then I
could: Offer to get my mom and sister out of debt & give them some
money to invest, give my brother the money to finish school so he
can leave the job that's killing him (but is paying his tuition),
visit my family members regularly (they're scattered in LA,
Minneapolis, New Orleans & Honolulu, respectively) contribute
_substantial_, truly helpful amounts to charities, quit Corporate
America and begin my own special business (something I love which
will never make me the survival money that Corporate America
    provides...sigh).

And with the money, I'd give my husband a MicroVAX with all the
trimmings and the gift of world travel...something he'd dearly
    love to do.

Just a random notion: maybe getting the second wish will help
accomplish wish number one. And, if it's any consolation,
I have another notion which is that many (most? all?) "good"
relationships (whatever that means) are *never* straightened
out/settled down; seems to me that the work towards these
    goals goes on (and on. . .and on. . . :-D ).

I wish my friend (SO) would become more understanding, forgiving,
compassionate, and loving then he has been in the past few months.
I also wish that my bestfriend's marriage works out and that they
have the best Christmas ever. I wish love for my family who will
be apart from each other this Christmas for the first time. Winning
some money would be nice about 10,000 please...

For Xmas, I'd like to lose the illusion of "self" and stop
defending such concepts as "my" office, "my" space in time, "my"
idea, "my" reputation, "my" beliefs, etc.

I wish house prices would come down and stay down for a long
time. I've been saving for a while as my wife and I have a certain
style home in mind (we really agree on that, wicked huh?!!), but
each time we arrive at a goal, the GD homes are 10-20k higher! Really
    tick me off!

I also wish happiness for all noters and non-noters (does that cover
everyone in the world?) for a lifetime. Happy Holidays!

I don't need one. It is clearly a luxury in time and money. But
Santa I would like a SO. A real good friend of the opposite sex
with whom I can 'grow old with for the best is yet to be'.

	I have three wishes....

	1. MY biggest wish:

A picture, of someone so dear to me, yet I have
		never seen him in person.

	2. My second wish:

To meet an SO. that I could keep happy for the
		rest of her life....

	3. My third wish:

That my first one will come true first, and foremost.

Well, now that my nearest and dearest has gotten his relocation
to Massachusetts (rah!) ..... I wish I had a job.

Unfortunately, wishing is a pretty useless occupation, so I'm going

My #1 wish is that my youngest son (14) has a good Christmas. He presently
lives with his dad and has expressed to my parents and myself that he is unsure
as to whether he wants to stay there in Ohio or come back to Massachusetts.

My #2 wish is expressed to those of you who aren't able to spend the holidays
with family members or friends that you would like to be with this year. May
we all have peace and happiness with those that we are able to be with.

My third wish is to get out of debt in 1988 and be able to save some money for
that cruise I've always wanted to go on.

Happy Holidays to all,
Susan

Wish List ...

that I can live another 400 years. What a great planet!

that my life keeps improving, just as it has for the past many years
(hard work and luck).

that I can be of more use to others (have not slaved at this one. blush)

that the Chicago Bears win the Super Bowl. That would keep my husband happy
till April. Also, it would not displease me.

that all the Womannoters have a Merry Christmas!

I wish that my baby turns out to be as healthy and happy as I dream
he/she will be (my little one is really active today!)

and I wish for my husband that he didn't have to drive used pickup
trucks, but that we had the money to buy him the kind of car he'd
    like.

I wish that people in this area and everywhere else would stop killing
other people. (For those of you outside of Mass, we've had 2 triple
murders of women and children this week in the quiet, central,
    semi-rural part of the state).

I wish there was one thing in life that felt like fun. Each day
consists of long work hours and trying to reduce my personal "To-Do"
list. I can't think of anything that even sounds like fun.

Maybe next year will be better.

My wish for Christmas and the New Year is that I have a healthy
baby in June. I am on my third pregnancy with no children yet and
am finding the anxiety to be overwelming at this point. To make it past
Christmas will mark the farthest any of my pregnancies have gone
as well as an end to my first trimester.

I wish for the happiness of my father, that God watches over him
and shows him the light at the end of the tunnel, that his four
"natural" children are still "living"in this world and that he let's
go of his anger, faces up to his mistakes and genuinely tells me

I wish that Sue's (re.35) wish comes true, and will wait anxiously
      to see that it has.

I wish for my best friends second baby to be as happy, healthy,
and as beautiful as her first. (And that it be born on my birthday
as her due date is the day after. It's my 30th coming up and I'm
pretty down already. It could be the best thing she could have
given me in our twelve year friendship).

For myself, I wish my life had gone differently and I could have
had children to raise along with my best friends. I always imagined
our going through pregnancies together. But my life went another
